Ok, so, one of the most hyped stuffs about ME3 seems to be if we'll see Tali's face, and how she'll looks like. People opened lots of topics about that, happily ignoring the main Tali thread. So the idea now is doing the "Tali's face thread that end all the Tali's face threads." if you wanna discussa about this, post here, instead of opening new threads one day yes and the other one too. Most important, this thread also serves as survey/suggestion place about YOU'd like how Tali looks under dat helmet. How much you wanna that she's alien-looking? What skintone you'd like most? Gloving eyes or not? Say it here ;)

In general, I've heard lots of fan to be interested in NOT having an "elf in space" (aka not just an human with lowly different skintone and ears shape) but a lot of other elements, like the presence or not of hairs, or something that resemble them, the possibility that she has or not gloving eyes and so on, are much more discussed.

About me:

- Hairs or else: quite neutral about it. I wont' mind if she's bald, or neither if she has Predator-like dreads. The only thing that would bug me is that we'll find out she has uber long hairs underneath the helmet, because I can't imagine how she could be able to hide them underneat it.

- Gloving eyes: A big yes, I don't think that the gloving we can see from underneath her helmet seems to be a normal reflection caused by and artificial light pointed to her eyes. Also, if she doesn't have normal human-like eyes she'll look immediately more alien.

- Skintone: a non-colour, like white, black or grey. The ME's aliens are all quite colorful, except maybe the turians, and quarian suits too in general are so, it would be a nice contrast if her skin has some colour more neutral. Also, speding all that time away from sunlight because of the suit, her skintone should be a bit pale/unhealty (not something exagerated, off course).

- Cybernetics: quarians are a very techy species, and also they seems to be connected to their suits as they're a second skin. I won't mind if Tali has some little, visible implants on the front or on the temples, there where there are the connection between her helmet and herself. The ME1's Codex and even Harbringer mentions that quarian use to have cybernetics. Naturally, nothing so hudge to makes her looking like an alien Terminator, LoL

- Alien details: I'd like something that makes her immediately recognizable as alien, but keeping her attractive for human canons too, like happens with Thane (and the drells in general), wich is crearly alien, but quite sex-appealing too.

These are my idea, your turn now!

Thread rules:

- NO TROLLPOSTING! If you're not interested in the character, no one can or will blame you for that. But then ignore this thread. If you'll post here just for saying idiocies like "LoL, I hope she's ugly as hell and that we'll see her face righ before she dies!" you'll be reported in a few seconds.

- If you like Tali, but you're not interested in seeying her face or you think it's better to maintain the mistery ala Master Chief, use the main TaliThread. This discussion is abot how we'd like she looks, not about if BW should or not reveal her appearence.

- If you wanna discuss about Tali's character or storyline, post fanfictions, fanarts and screenshots use the main TaliThread. Off course the fanarts with Tali's face concepts are an exception.

- Do a list of the feautures you'd like to have about Tali's appearence in your first post here.

Nicely done.

About cybernetics so that people can be reminded.

Mass Effect Wiki: “Quarian; considered due to cybernetic augmentation, weakened immune system too debilitating.”

Harbinger in game line.

On the subject of hair, I would vote that she should have it. The 'Jack' look has already been done and didn't really work. It kind of reminded me of when Britney Spears shaved her head after going a bit nuts. Hair hasn't really been done in Mass effect (at least what we have seen so far, and seems to always be short), and would be nice to see another alien species with it. To differentiate with humans, maybe have very long brightly coloured hair, which moves slowly of its own accord (like it's in water), and emits (for example) particles like pollen.
As for the cybernetics, I think 'less is more', as they say. Whilst Quarians may be a techie species, melding with machinery physically doesn't have to be a necessity. And as Alienmorph mentions, Terminator style would just be too much.
Skin tone; I'd go with bright, maybe even luminous or light emitting (remember the film Cocoon when the girl took off her skin and revealed a glowing alien?). You could even argue that Tali's mask is actually a light filter, preventing light from getting 'out' instead of in.

I asked Casey about revealing Tali's face and got this as answer
@CaseyDHudsonhttp://t.co/8ATrJQRSo you guys are not going to show tali's face? :(
@CaseyDHudson.@sharon_ak The Tali quote was from some pre-interview silliness - wasn't serious. Whether we reveal Tali's face in #ME3 would be a spoiler.
So maybe they are planing on showing us :)

i want tali, and quarians in general, to look like quarians without outside pressure from fans to turn them into something overly sexualized.

I'm definitely on board with the cybernetics and not overly human idea for her. It would kind of be a bit of a let down to have all this mystery around the Quarians and then masks come off and they're just humans with grey skin. :P I haven't quite put a ton of thought into what I envision them to look like under the mask, but I rather like the idea of being "humanish" but still very obviously alien. I'm not very fond of that fanart that keeps floating around that basically makes her look like a space elf. To each their own I know but something a bit less distinctly human would be fantastic. :3 Exotic is the word I've tried hard to not use here, but I'd like something to make the Quarians stand out since we've spent two games wondering just what is under the mask.

How about less pictures and more explaining?

@T.Attwood nicely done.

@CalamityRanger I think most Talimancers won't be disappointed if she doesn't look like a space elf.
And for those fanarts I think it's more of lack of imagination then they want for Tali to look like that.

I'm glad to hear that. :) I've wanted to voice my dislike about it for a while but didn't really want to get pitbulled over not loving Tali. It's not that I don't because I'm rather fond of her (well as much as a FemShep is allowed to love Tali in ME2 :P), I just have my fingers crossed that the Quarians look a lot more intriguing than that particular fanart. I think you're spot-on in saying it's lack of imagination, I mean the art is technically quite beautiful, but it just looks like a "too easy" approach.

Part of me likes the idea that the Quarians have features that aren't distinctly "beautiful" by normal human standards, but there's something about them that is still appealing after the mask comes off. I mean we have people attracted to taurians and they are by no means directly humanoid in their appearance, but there is still allure about them.

I'm writing way too many small novels on my ramblings about Quarian faces. Haha, I guess it's a good thing this topic exists because it gets some of us that don't normally ponder what they look like to actually think on it!

I am more concerned with how she smells. She was in that suit for a very long time ....

Hey, calm down. Concepts are ok, Mesina was just saying he was interested to ear your opinion and not only to watch those fanarts.

Yeah, that.

If I wished to watch fanarts I would go to fan support thread or DeviantArt.
Which I do when I feel like it.

Not a bad thing, just this shouldn't become picture spam thread and not explaining why you think it should or you just wish to look like that.

Visible to the player would suffice. Given that, I am assuming, Shepard was thoughtful enough to get the general impression on the quarian appearance and anatomy from the extranet and, maybe, Mordin's books.

I am more against showing tali in particular. Maybe show a quarian, but not tali. hopefully we don't see her as a way to kiss shepard good bye

There is already a really good CGI face of Tali, I bet everybody else already knows what I'm talking about.

Just google

Mass Effect Tali face --> Images

Should be the 2nd result.
I hope that's what Tali actually looks like, because it would be awesome.

I was thinking about the 'mechanical implants' prospect. I'm not sure if it works, or whether it is necessary at all. I mean, just because Quarians are good at technology, would they still want to blend with it physically? It would be like, Thane deciding to remove his arm and replace it with a gun to make him a better assassin, or Mordin replacing his fingers with syringes (that would make for an interesting experience when going to the toilet/restroom! Posted Image).

I would like Tali to have the Alien's jaw. Unfortunately, that probably won't happen.

Shepards story is abouth the reapers, but you have to agree (especially in ME:1) it's also somewhat organics vs robots. Therefore I like the cybernetics part it puts the Quarians somewhat in the gray zone. Besides it looks cool

There's hints at the possibilities that quarians have cybernetic implants in both games, and the mere existence of the geths, which have tecnhorganic bodies I remeber you, it's an hint to the fact that quarians may be good with cybernetic stuffs too, and not only with repairing junky spaceships.

It's not a mandatory thing, but I don't see why Tali shouldn't have some implants, all considered. I guess that they should be limited to the essential, because the weakened quarian phisiology probably won't handle extended or too invasive implants, but still...

I prefer a more extensive cyber surgery myself,  It stands to reason that a race that was technically superior in the area of robotics would in fact enhance themselves through mechanical means.
