Hair makes sense given the ecology of the quarian homeworld.
No, it is not a big deal for them to cut it periodically. No acid treatments or implants are necessary to remove it. Just take your damn helmet off once every month or so for a couple of minutes and give it a trim. It's not a big deal.
If they can take their suits off for showers they can cut their hair as well.

I don't think they take off their suits for showers. That's kind of the point, they can't just take off the suits whenever they like. That's why Tali taking off her mask was kind of a big deal.

I haven't read the books. Anyway, Tali wouldn't be able to do that and neither would any quarians on Pilgrimage, so it'd still be pretty gross for them.Saphra Deden wrote...

It would not be hard for a quarian to locate a relatively sterile room every other month or so on any given space station or colony, especially considering the modular design of most Mass Effect dwelling.
Find a bathroom. Scrub it down. Good to go.

Furthermore not having hair(or a hair analogue) wouldn't really make sense given what we know about Quarians. It's noted that on Rannoch animals pollinated plants which would seem to require something similar to hair(perhaps the quills Pride Demon mentioned) to aid in that process.

the lip structure is what I like most about this. I seriously doubt Tali has big lips (she isn't really "sultry"... more cute in personality) and typically sultry, sexy women in fiction have bigger lips to represent this. I imagine Tali has a similar face structure to Kalli from "Firefly".
I don't care either way for the ridges or the multiple nostrils. They could make her more alien, which is cool. Either way, I like the skin color, too, and who knows if Quarian skin reacts the same way to sun exposure as human skin does, or even if melanin reacts the same way to Quarians as it does to Humans. Perhaps Quarians are dark as default.

The four nostrils kinda throw me off a bit, but the pointed teeth are freaking perfect!PureMethodActor wrote...
This is the best representation, and my favorite, of what Tali's face looks like, in my opinion:

Hmm... I never noticed the pointed teeth as much, but cool. That could work

I love the elongated skull and the cheekbones. I don't really see how she would have much hair either, that wouldn't really work in her suit. I am fine with her being bald, although I guess, as it was mentioned above, that short hair wouldn't interfere with anything.
She would look plenty "alien" using the above model and adding facial textures and coloring. In the end, if we do see here face, there is no design that would make everyone content. A lot of people are going to through fits and call her disgusting. That's part of the reason why I think Bioware might not even bother.

The wire-like hair is a really good idea. At least it would get us past the whole Hair dispute.
Glowing eyes... cybernetic lens maybe? Helps them track electrical impulses in electronic devices? Many ways that could go really.

My question about the illustration above: Why would her eyes glow? I can see that her eyes might glow through the helmet, some kind of reflection from her retinas bouncing off the inside of the helmet surface, but realistically, why would eyes glow? I know that a person using biotics can have glowing eyes, but a non-biotic person with glowing eyes doesn't make anatomical sense to me. Asari eyes are unusual because the can either "go black" or glow, but again, that's asari and they're naturally biotic. I always thought the "going black" was an involuntary response, the eyes protecting themselves from light as the asari's senses focus inward. I envision either a nictitating membrane, or some sort of "squid ink" substance that comes out of a reservoir-like lachrymal gland and into a small void between two layers of the sclera, and then back into the reservoir. But glowing eyes on a quarian? Is it a cybernetic contact lens?
Its based on the fact that Tali's eyes glow through the mask, and that its either speculated or confirmed that Quarian eyes are bioluminescent, therefore always glowing.
The image I posted I think is awesome because of that. Since hearing about the bioluminescense, I picture Tali's eyes like that always.
Can a dev or someone who can look for a previous dev comment answer whether Quarian eyes are bioluminescent or not?

Don't take it off and let her become another one of the standard supermodel-pretty females in these games.

PureMethodActor, I actually really like that picture. The pointed teeth
work very well and almost make them kind of cat-like. If Turians are
bird-like, why not have Quarians cat-like yeah? Though I do think Garrus
is the odd case of being a cat-bird.
Hmm, I never really noticed a lot of what you described, but seeing it now, I can almost see Tali's face as having a certain cat-like aspect to it. It certainly would remind a lot of people of Juhani, thats for sure
@Alock1a- That isn't bad face-or-body-wise, but the lips I have a problem with. They seem a little too big for me to match her personality, but thats also partly my preference talking.

@Naahh. So far the only super model character I've seen is Miranda. Ash, Not sexy in the least. Liara, had such a strange face. Jack, make a girl nearly naked with tattoos and she's going to be sexy. Tali...and the Quarian people in general, I think it would just be one of the big reveals for 3.

I'm trolling.
Actually, I like Tali and I think Bioware's art team has the chops and the talent to show us her face.
