I would love it if bioware added the option for shep to use powered exoskeletons/armors. If you look at the pics I'm imagining the powered part to be more advanced and less bulky from 180 years of refinement. The synthetic muscles, motors, etc would be close fitting to the body with a heavier version of the N7 armor completely encasing shep and the exoskeleton.

IMO I think something along this line would fit well into the ME universe and could be incorporated logically into the gameplay, eg some missions you have to wear lighter armour to be stealthy, some you have to wear heavier armor to steamroll hordes of enemies. I don't want iron mans armor lol because it's too rediculous, just something that's plausible and fits into the ME universe.

I'm thinking that either the devs haven't considered this or that a powered system isn't nesessary because the armor materials used are light enough to not need one. What do you guys think? yay or nay? I did a forum search and couldn't find anything reqarding this so I apologise if this has already been discussed.

Also where does shep carry all his equipment? Shouldn't he have webbing, pouches, etc to carry gear and actually look like a real soldier rather than a power ranger lol?

stuff like that belongs to a different type of sci fi. you see that in fallout and similiar "near future" games. in mass effect the people themselves are augmented, so a powered suit is unnecessary. I think the suits are ceramic composite anyway they they most likely don't weigh all that much.

Motorized joints were part of the armor upgrades given in ME1, they just weren't visible.

If armor upgrades are coming back, i'd think we'll see them again.

I think they should stay like ME1. Not visible, but known to be part of the armor.

^ This is close to what I was thinking.

I agree that the "walking tank" type of armors don't belong in ME, when I want that I'll play fallout 3. What I'd like to see, is if armor customisation is similar to weapon customisation, then an upgrade could add components that you can see augments sheps physical capabilies and adds to defence, but is not massively bulky or oversized. Or it could be an optional thing like the DLC armors in ME2. It doesn't matter to me whether it's in the game or not, it's just something that I'd enjoy.

Some ME2 armors already were motorized. Kestrel and Stimulator Conduits, for example.

Besides, Shepards elbow strike MUST have been enhanced. That's the only way to explain being able to kill armored enemis with a few blows.
