Sadly she probably won't be coming back as main companion because she is bound to main character in DE1 and they made another main in DE2. i expect there will be another main in DE3(if they decide to go for it. might happen the same which did to nwn series) and we won't see the companions we loved in DE1 and DE2(sadly enough. though i might expect liandra to return)
i think most people believe the same about ****ty pirate girl(see? i can't even remember her name. and i finished DE2 at least for 5 times -.-) wasn't good enough as main romance character for males. and that stupid, spoiled, ignorant and skinny elf girl was good for nothing.
So: what we really need is; a strong ****y attituded, hard to get, crazy, awesome voiced(i recommend paying those actresses for entire series from start so they won't be able to ask for more money later =P) female character to romance.
i also want a game made for Aribeth De Tylmarande with her voice actress involved(my 1st love). but then i stopped hoping for that because nwn series probably won't go on. i think scenarists made a mistake making that series "too epic"(you see, going to other side, dealing and killing gods-demigods and now cannot think of something more normal to make.
Morrigan wasnt exactly hard to get... now she is because she doesnt exist! In defense of the pirate girl, I did like her cocky attitude, but its just not the same. She seemed more like a female Jack Sparrow (I really think thats what they were going for), which wasnt bad, it fits her character. I dare say I even liked pirate girl... even if I cant remember her name. I think the only people that liked elf girl are the Alistair fans. Elf girl was horrible. There really needs to be an option to give elf girl to the darkspawn in exchange for some sort of trinket.
Morrigan played a huge rule in Dragon Age and with the child in the series. To bring back Flemeth and not Morrigan is... like bringing back stupid Alistair and making him being king canon. GOD WHY?! Whiney Alistair crying about the dog biting him POOR BASTARD ME CANT BE KING bla bla bla shut up Alistair. Okay Ive gone on my Alistair rant but its still not enough. He will continue to pop up in everything now. I expect Alistair to pop up in Mass Effect 3 as the runt of the Racni queen complaining he cant be Racni king because Sheppard didnt kill the queen and be a long time companion to Sheppard all about bringing Racni runt to queen so he can complain and become Racni king even though he really doesnt want to be king hes just there SHUT UP ALISTAIR GO TO BED!

well they tried to make pirate look like morrigan in a way. easy to bed with but hard to be loved. but she doesn't have morrigan's voice, her smart mouth and especially looks. from back i can almost imagine the cellulites on her legs =P
the elf girl is maybe like Tali in ME series. lady in distress(ok it's kinda tempting for me irl but i donno why it was ugly in DA2) downsides are; i don't know why but elves in DA2 are absolutelly ugly so she is. and she doesn't have Tali's looks(hell i would go for that allien race instead of human girls if they existed. shape of hips and belly...meoww !!CENCORED CENCORED erm..
girl-hard to get i meant aribeth de tylmarande in fact. in bioware rpg games we now surely know romance is involved. but in nwn i wasn't expecting romance so it was shocky.
back to topic; well they gave up both aribeth and bastila (btw i keep mentioning nwn but am not exactly sure if it was a bioware game.) and only way we can see morrigan can be like;
a- DE3 --> totally new character seeking missing hero champion to help stop the war between mages and templars. finding champion teamed up with warden and morrigan to defeat some other evil(maybe morrigan's child goes renegade and trying to save morrigan. hmm that gave me more ideas in fact)
b- DE series become like silent hill series. in DE1 you play with warden, DE2 champ, DE3 warden again. if warden is included in DE3 and they don't put morrigan as main companion i believe there will be WW3 =)
c- most likely this will happen. totally new char and only a couple of sentences about the past events. well i cannot blame them because gameplay, decisions and even gender options make things complicated to go on multiple scenerios. besides, they added too much mystery on morrigan and her child. bioware might be afraid of not being able to give us a satistactory story at this point.
one more thing. why did they make flemeth so hot in DE2? now i can't hate her much. besides she is the most logical neutral thing in the game. stop playing my head developers ._.
