So what kind of Shepard do you expect to see once ME3 (and the shepard arc) come to an end?

Are you hoping for:

- The storybook ending with Shepard sailing off into the sunset with his chosen love interest

- A corpse

- A tortured soul haunted by the various decisions he made

- A broken man, unable to leave the events of the past behind him

- A hero whose resolve through this incident have only made him stronger

- Something else?

My own hope is that we somehow get to influence this through conversation choices at the end of the game. It could be as simple as Shepard being questioned and through various answers we get to decide how he is truely feeling at the end of this epic (presuming of course he is still alive)

Thoughts ?

I don't think "broken man" is even a remote possibility. Shepard has already proven himself to be indestructible.

I think a corpse is certainly a possibility, though I'd rather it be a possibility than an inevitability.

Sunset with Liara sounds good to me...

Well, I hope we can choose our own ending, and that's what Bioware has implied. Personally, I'd have to go with the tortured soul, as I've always imagined my Shepard.

Hoping? For multiple endings with different conditions, and that the "dead" ending is not necessarily the "loser" ending. More like DA:O, I guess, ending-wise, only with better end-sequences, not a dreary bunch of text.

Certainly I'd like to see storybook and corpse as options.

I don't know about that. At the end of the day he's only human, and while things may not affect him during this epic struggle, once the dust settles and their time for reflection he's gonna have allot of issues to deal with.

I'm going to go with tortured for many reasons.

All that Shepard has been through (the chosen background which in my Shepard's case is Colonist - Sole Survivor, the beacons, the death and subsequent rebuilding, the collectors, and all the other things). It's just too much to not take a huge toll.

Also, what might have been holding Shepard together is the Reaper threat. If that is taken care of Shepard may feel like he/she is lacking a purpose.

Shepard almost dies at the end, but gets healed at the last minute by Emperor Udina and restored with mechanical implants, becoming "Lord Shepard".
And humanity shall rule the galaxy.

A storybook ending but more likely my shepard will end like a hero without rest which may be a better ending than the last one.

And finds out that, through Shepard's renegade actions, his/her LI was killed in the final Reaper battle. This enrages Shepard, and he/she becomes more powerful than ever before.

Since I have multiple Sheps, I'll say, all of the above. For my "canon" Shep, I'm hoping she'll have a healthy mix of heroic resolve and riding off into the sunset w/ Liara. Anything but, "going off to find the true sith."

Like fuse with the reaper technology and become the universe most evil powerfull entity.

Something evil like that... but i doubt it seeing as renegade isn't evil but it's just being a douchebag.

Probably something like this, I like the idea of Shepard carrying on as a protector of the galaxy after ME (well, Spectre at least).

Being given a choice could be fun, I'm not sure how it'd work though.
