I meen really we are all nerds fighting about nerd stuff over internet thats just stuipid LoL to fight over something like this over internet is just pointless no one is gonna win no matter what you write so all lets shut the F*CK UP! and see what may come in ME3 and send some letters if you want to change anything XD
Shut up. Learn grammar.
No.
I find Bioware's favoritism incredibly obnoxious, even if I like the character.

Does this thread still have an actual point yet to be made? And not one that has already been beaten into a sodden, petty, subjective pulp?
Quite honestly, this thread seems like the same arguements of "I don't like how Liara has plot armor, she should be able to die in ME3 because it's a galactic war", "I hate Bioware's favoritism towards Liara, I want her to die", the general "I hate Liara and want to kill her" and the many variations and degrees of extremity thereupon repeated for page after page.

Liara is undoubtedly the in house favorite.
*Takes deep breath*
Romancable by both genders, can't die, and is canonically required to be on the Normandy during the events of Mass Effect. She has her own comic book mini-series continuing her story after Mass Effect which further solidifies her importance to the overall plot. She's around during the events of Mass Effect 2 in an important enough role to get her own "main mission" downloadable content but not long enough to be killed in the Suicide Mission. She takes up the mantle of Shadow Broker making her arguably the most important power player in the series'. She is a guaranteed squad member in Mass Effect 3 regardless of variables or decisions.
*Exhales*
Am I missing something?

It originally seemed like, "If Liara can have this much attention from Bio, can the other characters have it too?" Which I find reasonable. I like Liara. I'm not a Liaramancer, and she isn't my favorite character, but I like her. That being said, when she receives as much attention as she does from the writers when you're more interested/curious about the other characters, it can leave a sour taste in your mouth.

It's generally not pointless because the devs of Bioware have a habit of listening to fans, if not necessarily incorporating things.
And dude.
It's spelled grammar. Seriously, I have no idea how you keep missing that 'r' at the end.

This. There's a lot of interesting characters in the Mass Effect lineup, and more than enough plot-points to go around. Share the wealth, Bioware. Don't lump everything on Liara.

And I've been up for twenty-five hours.
And I care about grammar because, since your grammar is awful, I have no idea what you've just tried to say in your last sentence.

Okay, let's say that for Mass Effect Redemption, instead of "lumping favor" on Liara, they had the entire ME1 crew be going after Shepard. That way, instead of unfairly giving the spotlight to Liara, you get a nice even spread of the attention; at the cost of any and all chance at characterization or progression of personality for anyone involved.
And instead of putting Liara in the position of the Shadow Broker , let's just have your entire ME2 squad share the position amongst themselves.
Now, if you don't think that would work, then why don't Bioware just give it to another popular character? Say, Tali for instance? Well, then Bioware would obviously be screwing over fans of other characters. It would be the same thing if they did it with any other character. Someone's going to be complaining about being "screwed over".

Or, one, maybe two, character was in Redemotion, another became the Broker, and the VS would have their own DLC as well.
Instead, everything is focused on Liara. Of course people are upset.

What, people complaining about characters getting screwed over? That character development would be impossible if these subplots were focused on more than just one character? These are things that can be rectified with good writing. Focusing so much attention around one character when there are others to explore is not necessarily good writing. I personally think it's bad.
Worse still is railroading individual Shepards into having a friendship with said character, even when there is a possibility that they were not friendly prior.
I'm not saying, "give all these plots to one character." I'm saying give equal plot to as many characters as possible. Which didn't happen.
I like Liara. But I'm sick to death of her.
