Meh, DLC.

I don't know, I suppose it's possible Bioware will do something revolutionary and not make it stupidly overpriced.

I think a lot of people forget that devs don't determine the price of their own product unless they're self-publishing.

Which they're not.

So money complaints? Talk to EA.

If this is a roundabout way of asking if Legacy is an item pack, it most certainly is not. It's not as big as Shadows of Undrentide, but it's DLC, not an expansion pack.

Is it as big as the Leliana's Song/The Witch Hunt, or larger? Or smaller?

edit: scratch that, Awakening was technically an expansion.

That said... You do have Bethany/Carver in your party in the post campaign save even though you shouldn't have met them yet sooo... Continuity much?

Handled.

Hmm.. Just opened my last character and they're still in the group (by which I mean Bethany is), should they not be? Or do you mean it's taken care of in this DLC?

It is a relatively old character though, pre 1.03 certainly.

If I'm feeling positive, "Handled" could indicate that there's a plot explanation given for why Beth/Carver are available for this DLC despite being in the Tower/Wardens.

Takes place before the end of the game, huh. Blip on the disappointment meter.

I'd much rather they do gap filling with the DLC. I'm not particularly eager to see any important issues get the Witch Hunt treatment again. Save the consequential stuff for proper expansions and sequels.

That's true... but it wouldn't have to go the same way Witch Hunt went. Apparently this is the longest and most impressive DLC they've made.

Larger than any of the Origins DLCs, but not as large as Awakening.

That ranges from 1 hour and half to around 15 hours.

Yeah; realistically though since it's DLC probably 2-3 hours is what can be expected, if it's bigger than Leliana/Morrigan things?

... off-tangent. wouldn't mind Leliana/Morrigan DLC. They could go shopping in Orlais, maybe.

Still worried about the fact it isn't post save dlc though, I expect inconsistency or something that does not have impact... but I'll wait for the reviews NOT gonna purchase it at day one (gonna wait a week before everyone has settled down and can evaluate it more...) I do aprreciate the fact you can bring a sibling to it...

But it certainly is story driven. Some...interesting revelations in there, and we've gone to lengths to be sure you can engage with it at any point in DA II after you reach Kirkwall, including from the post-game save (which, like DA:O, takes place "just before" the events of the end game).

On the one hand, Add-In content is definitely my preference (as opposed to "Other Campaign"-type Add-On content).

But don't you risk making the rest of the game seem fugly and rote if you keep sticking solid content in there (although, at your current pace, this could just end up being the second-to-last DLC anyway :P)? I don't want to make the other parts of the game seem abysmal in comparison (look, it's Dungeon Map #2 for the fifth time in a row; what happened to the glorious maps that were all from that one single quest?)...

Interesting thing to try to balance, I guess. Good luck.

Will it last longer than 45 minutes?

I'll give it a half hour before one has finished it.

Players play at diffrent paces, while it might take a person 45 minutes to beat the dlc, it might take three hours for somene.

EDI: That was a joke.

I was wondering that as well.
And it has Fenris speaking. Hmm. And it takes place before the ending.

We need more hints. ;)

or grey wardens in general perhaps, my guess is if the dlc is going to be about the wardens it will tell the story of how Hawke obtained Vigilance (the sword is in the game files) B)

I'm* not that* miffed that it can take place before the end. It's DLC, not an expansion pack.

Although the fact that you can play it *anytime* kind of worries me.

So, the sibling presence in the post-game save is handled. Can we assume that the absence in the post-game save due to death of other characters is also handled?

As I recall in some interview with Laidlaw or Darrah I think from before DA2 came out regarding how they'd handle DLC, I think at that point they mentioned how most if not all would take place during the timeline of the game and you'd always be playing as Hawke. Because in part they figured stuff that happened after the events of DA2 should be left to a sequel or something.

@PresidentCowboy...Post Save game is the end game save. For gameplay purposes, it places you right before the game ends. The DLC can be played from the post game save, during an existing uncompleted game, or once you arrive in Kirkwall in a new game.

At first I thought it might have something to do with Sebastian, but he wasn't available in the first act. Since Mike Laidlaw said it was playable once we arrive in Kirkwall, then the story probably doesn't revolve around Sebastian.
