Takes place before the end of the game, huh. Blip on the disappointment meter.

I'd much rather they do gap filling with the DLC. I'm not particularly eager to see any important issues get the Witch Hunt treatment again. Save the consequential stuff for proper expansions and sequels.

I agree with you 100%.

If this is a roundabout way of asking if Legacy is an item pack, it most certainly is not. It's not as big as Shadows of Undrentide, but it's DLC, not an expansion pack.

But it certainly is story driven. Some...interesting revelations in there, and we've gone to lengths to be sure you can engage with it at any point in DA II after you reach Kirkwall, including from the post-game save (which, like DA:O, takes place "just before" the events of the end game).

Looking forward to it. :)

So that means its not set after the end game events. I hope you are planning DLC set in the 3 years between the end game and Varric's interrogation.

What?  I understand that some people didn't like certain aspects of the game but considering you choose how to play Hawke... how can you not like how you choose to play?

It's easy enough if you don't like the three choices presented.

Same goes for DAO, really. Several conversations had my Warden FACEPALM at the "responses".

I guess it's just a preference.

Of course it's nothing but the preference, but i'm talking about something slightly different than the quest choices -- it's that not everyone has to like the choice of personalities granted to Hawke. Each of them tends to be very pronounced (the "nice guy", the douchebag and the snarky douchebag) and if your preference is for a more low key sort of character

Wouldn't that just be 'nice guy' Hawke? I prefer the pronounced personalities far more than the way it was done in ME.

Not really, the nice guy Hawke is.. well, a nice guy. Eugh. I dislike this archetype too much to bring myself to pick it usually when it's (over)done BioWare style (KotOR, ME paragon, some of the nice options in DAO etc) and in DA2 case it being associated with the whole blue colour/saint tone icon didn't help it in the slightest.

I prefer a combination of what you can get with the "neutral" ME tone and the humour that doesn't have the trollface.jpg bolted onto it plus some firm edge where suitable, and that just doesn't really seem available in DA2.

Sounds promising. Would really really liked to have had something to fill the enormous void left by the ending though.

I don't recall anything as cringe-worthy as saying something about women dancing around in bones/no-skin. After that my sarcastic hawke went diplomatic. Just ugh

Wheel is ebil.

"not an item pack"

Music to this old school gamer's ears. Thank you. Just stick to adding content to DA2 until DA3 is ready please. The item packs just make me /facepalm then perhaps /cry. Also...

Dear Devs,

Please allow sexy times with Sebastian in this DLC. I rivalmanced him for a reason @#%$!

God Bless,
DG

P.S. Additional sexy times with Fenris would make up for the whole Sebastian thing.

The Murder Knife does make a cameo appearance in the Last Straw quest. I can't really say anything else without spoiling some of the ending.

Neverwinter Nights received a 91/100 critic aggregate on metacritic on release, which is the same as Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect, and higher than Jade Empire. You can hardly call that a 'bad' game. Dragon Age II receieved an 82 - by far their lowest score on an RPG.

Mike, the last time you were hyping content we all know what happened... it sucked. So it's a bit hard to believe you now.

In any event, good or not, this DLC is worth avoiding to send a message to Electronic Arts that we want Bioware back - and Dragon Age 2 buried under a pile of rocks.

But we can still expect to have new items (like new armor and weapons((besides Hawke's Key) right?

I'm sure they'll be there.  And they'll no doubt be ridiculously overpowered, as is apparently obligatory for DLC items.

It's okay to be disappointed, but you need to be realistic in your expectations. Post-game-only DLC which isn't entirely stand-alone just doesn't sell well, so it's a bad, bad idea for DLC. Arrival, for example, is playable at any time after Horizon. It doesn't make a lot of sense (despite attempts to) as anything but post-game DLC, but it isn't post-game-only, which means it sells to a wider audience.
