Witch Hunt Morrigan romance not ending correctly

I'm on my bajillionth playthrough, this time as a mage, who romanced both Leliana and Morrigan fully ending with maxed approval, and accepted the Dark Ritual. I've imported that to Awakenings, and that into Witch Hunt.  However, at the conclusion all of the dialogue options reflect a friendship instead of a full romance, though they do acknowledge the ritual, and I have no option to go through the Eluvian with her.

I've heard rumblings about a bug that screws with your approval with Morrigan sometime between the ritual and the fight with the Archdemon, so I checked into my party camp in the epilogue save for this playthrough and lo and behold, she is still fully romanced with max approval.

What gives?

Supposedly, you can't speak to her at all in Denerim or it messes up with the romance somehow.

Also, did Morrigan give you her ring, so you could track each other down? There's some dialogue in Witch Hunt that occurs if you have the ring, though I'm not sure if you must have it on hand for everything to work. Ariane will notice you playing with the ring at some point and ask about it and your relationship with Morrigan.

Yup, I kept it on me throughout all the expansion and DLC, got those dialogue options including Morrigan's, yet she still treated me like we weren't in a romance.

Maybe romancing both Leliana and Morrigan screwed it up somehow? You have them both at Love?

I've done it that way at least three times with no problems before.

I had almost exactly the same issue, sole difference being I went Awakening > Golems of Amgarrak > Witch Hunt.Would it be possible to "read" my save file to see what the issue is, or upload it on Rapidshare so someone more knowledgeable could check?

Failing that, could I load my pre-Battle of Denerim save, re-beat Origins, and import that save directly into Witch Hunt (I really don't want to re-do all of Awakening right after finishing it for the first time), and, if so, what decisions would the game assume about Nathaniel, The Architect, and Amaranthine/Vigil's Keep?

You do know theres Flags that break off relationships with multiple characters if your romancing more then one right?

Morrigan is very picky and will not allow you to romance multiple people.

The only way you can do this is to exploit the game engine which causes this problem with the Flags.

There is definitely a bug that doesn't let you go through the mirror, but I thought it was patched. You might try checking in the Morrigan thread or posting there. It's been awhile since release so any workarounds would be fairly far back.

That sounded reasonable, so I loaded my pre-DR save, broke it off with Leliana, accepted the Dark Ritual, and imported that save into Witch Hunt; the romance still isn't acknowledged. I suppoose that means it has to be a bug with the game itself rather than a mistake I made.

EDIT: I've been going through the Morrigan thread and, while I've found many people who had the same issue as me, I haven't found a solution there. I haven't read anywhere near all 570 pages, so I'm sorry if I'm asking a question that's already been answered somewhere, but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Since your on PC make sure your using the patched version of Witch Hunt.
social.bioware.com/page/da-patches

Also try talking to the characters in your party camp if you have a save before the Landsmeet and trigger the jealousy convorsation between Morrigan/Leliana.  Break it off with Leliana and choose Morrigan. Then dont talk to her at all from that point.

I suggest you read through these pages on the Wiki as well.
dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Romance_%28Origins%29
dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Morrigan
And make sure to read the "Talk" pages on these as well.

It now sounds like you have a bug/glitch where Morrigan ended her relationship with you but you kept her Affection bar up. Just because the Bar is full does not mean "Love" and she will still do the Dark Ritual with the Warden.

I loaded my pre-final battle save, broke it off with Leliana, double checked that Morrigan's approval was, in fact, 100 (Love) rather than 100 (Friendly), slew the Archdemon, and imported that save into Witch Hunt. The same issue persisted.

Next, I loaded my pre-Dark Ritual save, broke it off with Leliana, double-checked Morrigan was listed as 100 (Love), performed the Dark Ritual, and then imported into Witch Hunt. That, too, had the issue, though I suppose that might be because it was a save from the start of the Battle of Denerim rather than the Epilogue autosave.

I purchased the Ultimate Edition a few months ago, so I assume it's v1.1, but I'm downloading the patch just to be safe.

Yeah...it still seems some people have issues with Morrigan's romance despite everything. :(

If you haven't already and are playing on PC, download Terra_Ex's Morrigan Restoration Patch- it fixes most flag related bugs with her romance and restores a good amount of dialogue that was cut too. Not sure it will fix your issues, but maybe try that plus Witch Hunt 1.1 too.

Well, I tried both and I'm still stuck, though that Restoration Patch is really cool despite not fixing the bug.

Anyway, at this point it seems pretty clear that this glitch is unfixable. I've been told that Morrigan doesn't even appear in DA2, so perhaps I should just ignore this problem until DA3 comes out and hope that, by then, some sort of save editor will exist that I can use to circumvent this. Nonetheless, I'm grateful for the help.
