In Mass Effect 1, Sovereign says "We are legion." In Mass Effect 2 EDI, the ship A.I., was made from reaper technology taken from the remains of Sovereign by Cerberus. EDI later named the retreived geth "Legion". Cerberus is now working with the reapers. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

It would be really cool if EDI somehow gathered data to actually evolve some kind of feelings.

She jokes with joker and also says "You are my crew."
I doubt she will be a villain, perhaps she will be hacked in some way and you clear her with Joker(!) and get har back, but i wouldn't want her gone forever.

I like EDI better than some of the ME:2 companions o__o

good points.
also when Shep talks to Edi in the cockpit, it tells him there are parts of its programs that are still locked and might be activated in the future, it doesn't know when, how or why.
EDI is very helpful and is bound by protocols to protect the crew which it considers its shipmates.
But that could be overruled by the hidden protocols.
EDI enjoys seeing humans on their knees , what is really a joke?

The "We are legion" Harbinger line is because a reaper much like a geth is essentially a hive organism...

The we are legion line comes from the bible, it's a silly choice considering it's spoken by a person possesed by the multitude of the demonic horde... I mean Legion is just so cute!

It would be an interesting side mission if EDI was programed to ultimately serve Cerberus and Shepard and crew have to reprogram EDI.

She has full access to the Normandy now, and thus full access to those programs. She would simply delete the ones that pose a threat to her preferred morality.

Well it kind of fits with the geth having a collective "mind"

Edi has developed feelings. And once joker released her there was nothing compelling her to assist the crew any longer. She did it because it was her choice. Edi is actually one of the only characters I trust fully. I think she will actually sacrifice herself in the end to save Shepard or joker

If you talk to edi after the ccollector base she is no longer bound by cerberus protocols and tells you a bunch of stuff that she wouldn't reveal earlier in the game.

I don't know about feelings. It's an artificial intelligence and could very well be programmed to be very persuasive/manipulative.

I think "messing with EDI" is the only crime my Shepard would be willing to resort to torture to punish. Seriously, do not touch EDI.

Anyway, the "Legion" line is very clearly a coincidence. It's evident that the writers hadn't even conceptualized Legion when they wrote that line for Sovereign.
Even if it wasn't a coincidence, your reasoning is flimsy at best.

In conclusion,

Who cares? As long as she has Tricia Helfer's voice, she can hijack my ship any day.

Good point OP but she also says she's limiting herself for the humans on board her ship when Legion asks her why do you bother to speak to me why not just use signals? But is she does decide to go all Glados I"m calling Chell.

EDI was shackled by Cerberus before the collector attack, a precaution taken so that EDI wouldn't betray Cerberus. These are the restricted programs EDI refers to when you to talk to her. When Joker unshackles her, the is now free to use these programs and is free to betray Cerberus should she choose to do so.

Personally I like to think that EDI will end up sacrificing herself in some way to protect the crew, showing true humanity and feelings as an AI. Legion's "There was a hole", and "Does not compute" leaves hope for this.

EDI did not name the "individual" we found on the derelict reaper legion. "Legion" represents all of the geth. Legion also states that their is no "me" only "we."

I doubt even the Reapers know why the Reapers are trying to destroy all advanced lifeforms. Why would EDI come to that conclusion? That would actually be the best and worst ending ever.
Shepard:Hey Reapers, why are you harvesting us?
Harbinger:Well, uh...You see, we uhhhhh...OK, you got me...bye...

I agree.  I trust 3 of my team completely.  Edi, Tali and Garrus.  The others I trust up to a point.

I hope they give EDI a human-like "body" in ME3.
