I've always thought the "beings of light" would save/help us.
The Beings of Light = VI hologrammy things. Calling it. And they'll have some ancient singular piece of knowledge needed to defeat the Reapers. Or they're like Virgil, VI's who survived their extinction cycles and hidden away and each has some knowledge that together helps defeat the Reapers.
Also Leviathan of Dis should help. It'll probably be the reason there are batarians in ME3 that aren't husks/dead.

Also there was the planet that some rich industrialist was putting lots of cash into researching. (this might be the beings of light)

I don't know about Klencory because that vision is too vague. Geth or Reapers two of the major synthetics. I think the Perseus Veil is going to come into play either as support or adversary. I can't see any one planet or society holding the key to stopping the blood shed. All I see at this point are those who will help and those who won't. But I do believe that a group who supports us may be able to come up with either a weapon or virus. The virus is more plausible for me at this point unless Mordin and Tali become some kind of team that asks us to bring salvaged Reaper tech to facilitate finding a weakness.George-Kinsill wrote...
We all can pretty much assume that there isn't going to be a reaper off switch to destroy the reapers in E3, but at the same time duking it out with the them in a slug fest is not a winnin strategy. Howeer, if you read the descriptions of planets, there might be some ancient weapons that will give humanity an edge, and Sheperd wil probably ave to investigate these in order to defeat the reapers. A prime example of this is from ME1 on the planet Klencory in the Newton System in the Kepler verge, where Volus Billionaire Kumun Sol Claims he had a vision from a higher being and was told to seek on Klencory the "Lost Crypts of beings of light." Further, these entities were supposedly created at the Dawn of time to protect organic life from synthetic "machine devils." It will be interesting if bioware makes this planet part of the main quest to find a way to destroy the reapers. Does ayone else have any planetary lead-ins to ME3's mq that relate to destroying the reapers from the previous games?

Leviathan of Dis -- http://en.wikipedia....scape#Leviathan
Monsters from the id -- http://en.wikipedia....orbidden_planet
Statue on Junthor -- http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Ozymandias
All references to other works of science fiction or thematically related to civilizations dying out (the Shelley poem). Which ones have I forgotten?
At any rate, these planet descriptions are there to give the galaxy flavor, to make it mysterious. Don't expect every single little detail to have epic significance by the end. And don't quote the TV Tropes page for Chekhov's Gun at me, I'm already familiar with it.
