Yes, but with DA:O.

Different games appeal to different people in different ways.

Not with DAII but I am experiencing this with DAO as of late.

Which makes me sad because I really like my Amell Warden.

I couldn't bring myself to play it more than once either. What put me off was the thought of having to trudge through boring Kirkwall again, fighting waves of pointless mobs.
I just could not force meself to do it again.

LOL...

Yeah... I did too... but NOT with Origins, where after over 20 completionist runs I can still find lots of motivation to play. (and different stuff in them too). I could replay DA2 though, some 5 times! but I can't touch it again so soon.

@OP You can still try different classes and builds and party formation and tactics before you retire it. It's good for that, at least. I'd hate to spend my money on a game with zero replay value and DA2 has some... not nearly as great as Origins but definitely has some.

I barely managed to do a second playthough, and I fear 360 achievements may have been part, if not the entire, of the reason.

The game has collected dust since then. DA2 was the first game I pre-ordered in a long time, and it makes me want it to be the last.

I tried starting a second game but I stopped on reaching Kirkwall. There are just too many things I don't like about the game itself. The story itself was weak; I don't care about the templars or the mages; my ideal experience would be to kill them all until they left me out of their stupid feud.

I hated the way most of the party members were written. After playing the Witcher 2, I can't go back to the stupid combat in DA2; the look of the Battle Cattle (Qunari) and the elves just grated on my nerves. I'll probably still buy the DLC as a hedge against playing it again in the future but I think I'd rather play through my entire old Bioware catalog again starting with Baldur's Gate before I waste anymore time on DA2.

Sorry, I had to giggle. I can replay DAO over and over again. And I have and will continue to do so, Fade and Deep Roads, and all. DA2, I may try a 3rd playthrough with the patch.

Yes. Struggled to finish DA2 even once. Tried playing again, but quit after 10 minutes.

Where as I was able to play through Origins (and all DLC/Expansion) 3 times in a row before I was finally satisfied. Tried to start a 4th play though, but the FADE portion was just too boring to run through again.

I barely made it through 1 play through. I tried several other starts but couldnt bring myself to continue.

Maybe if I get really drunk I could do another. Hmm, I smell a slogan..

Disable the "buffer effect" or something like that, in Video Options, for the Fade only. Also, turn off the music for that place. Those two things act in our subconscient so badly that we hate the place but with them off, if's actually an awesome section where we can have lots of fun using and experimenting all the morphs. It's fun using all 3 combat morphs in one battle. Quickly changing between them to make the most of their powers agains a group of mages, for instance. Plus all those attributes bonus! =)

It's okay, guys, I'll do enough DA2 runs for all of us.

I got this.

Same. I haven't been able to play Origins as fervently as I used to. I'll leave my game on for hours on end where my Warden will just be staring blankly at someone. When I pick up the game again, I'm amazed they didn't smack Damaeus Cousland yet.

I think in my case it's: "Why can't I bring myself to do a first playthrough?" Though not for lack of trying; three abandoned-in-Act 2 attempts, but unlike Origins, this one is just not speaking to me.

*high fives*

I've completed the game only once so far.  Currently on my second playthrough, but it's slow going to be honest.  I'm finding that I have to force myself through it.

However, I will be going back to DAO soon, so maybe completing a playthrough there and getting another save to carry over will give me some incentive to start and finish another DA2 game.  That and the DLC that's supposedly on the way.

I never play another playthough right away. I usually do it six or more months later so it won't feel as repetitive

I've played the game about 5 times to see if there is anything different and tbh its not that diffferent. Everything is pretty much the same.

Its not a surprise you find a second play through tough. There isn't really an alternate path to choose because the story is too linear to accommodate multiple play through's. I've played through twice, once to side with templars, another to side with mages. Thats really all you can do, as opposed to the 7 different characters/ play through's I have on origins ha.

I can just about do it. I've completed two playthroughs and am in the middle of a third one. Only I have to not play the game for a few weeks to get motivated to play it again, whereas with Origins, as soon as I finished a playthrough, I would start a new one.

Yes, I had to force myself to play through my first run, and then tried to start a 2nd run with a new character, but I stopped about an hour in. DA2 is just tedious, I didn't want to go slaughter another million enemies in the exact same locations.

Yes, OP... Exactly same here. Probably it's due to paraphrase dialogue system and voiced protagonist in my case - I don't like em. And of course tedious combat, which is either boring grind, or a boss fight which is a boring grind but also cheap. Time is precious, maybe we don't want to waste it with all that filler content?

I did about three playthroughs before quitting because your choices don't matter. Also, I began really hating the grinding MMO-style combat.

3 and a half playthroughs with me.

I got way more out of Origins than I did DA2, but that said I eventually burned out of DA:O (beat it in the double digits, near 15-18 times).

Mass Effect 1 and 2 however I replay all the ****ing time. I've beaten both who knows how many times 30-40 range. Obsessive?

Yeah....yeah...

But it's one of my favorite series of all time (right up there with Half-Life, StarCraft, and Thief). It's just so damned good.

DA2's alright. Not great. I will eventually replay it again once or twice especially since DLC will come out and I'll be tempted to replay.

*laughs* You're a gem. :)

To the OP, I'm surprised you don't want to playthrough again if you enjoyed the game. There are a lot of different quests that come up, and whereas the finale isn't hugely different the path to get there is very different. I had to do a few playthroughs just to see the difference between friendship & rivalry for some of the characters, handing someone over to the baddies, someone else, etc--There's a lot to experience (unless you saved & reloaded & did all that in one playthrough.)

I actually tried a whole playthrough just to romance Sebastian. Then when I found out his *ahem* preferences I had to reload and romance someone else instead. I just couldn't do it.

I didn't get to the ending because Merrill's romance was bugged. Never finished it. I might pick it up to finish a play through depending on DA3.
