Does anyone play this or post/read in these forums anymore?  Seems like the postings are few and far between.

We're not dead yet! Just...quiet, as we're too busy playing Neverwinter Nights 2 to post.

Kidding aside, while the boards are pretty quiet, usually any questions are answered promptly.

Yes, and the community is actually developing things which hopefully add more excitement. Just look at what hellfire, 0100010, skywing are doing, not to mention the many PW admins and SP module makers. It's going to be a busy summer.

Rides my horse off into sunset.

Yep. As a quiet lurker of the night, I can confirm all the above responces are true.

I thought that horse belonged to Hellfire.  He made it after all....

he lets me ride it sometimes...

( not trying to claim credit for the fantastic horse, but i am working on getting it usable in game, which is why i am riding one to begin with  .... hoping when its released all the pws can start using it right away along with SP players )

It's like a free-time newspaper for NWN2 - most people dont write all the time but there is always lots of hits on threads - more than the amounts of posts actually made.

Not much point in posting if there's nothing to say, and there's not that much to say. There's an argument that not having ten people a day asking the same questions is a good thing - maybe we're a small and inactive community, but maybe we just have really great stickies and FAQs...?

More seriously, I can only speak for myself, but although I'm spending a fair amount of time building Oasis, I check in here pretty much every day to see if there's any questions I can help answer.

These kinds of posts confuse me.  There are all sorts of posts every day...the community is working on dozens of projects, mods get released every month...what the heck.

Does a game forum need to have posts every three seconds to be considered "alive"?

Just stop it.

Actually I am not MIA. And yes, a forum should be lively dammit! LOL. I can picture Ben Stein loving this place.. "Bueller... Bueller...Anyone? Anyone?"

Quote - "Just Stop It" = I guess this answers my question perfectly all the same.  Thanks!

Games being played, games being talked about and games being liked are three totally different things. An interesting point I just noticed which seemed kinda relevant to this idea (I know a lot of us are not big on groups, with reason, but still):

Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2 Fan Group (a somewhat random fan group not containing even the more active of NWN1&2 posters) - 21 members.
Minsc and Boo Fan Club - 92 members.
Now OK, this is not a surprise, because Minsc and Boo are awesome. But consider this:
Baldur's Gate Trilogy No-Reload Group - 37 members.

Going off these figures alone, Baldur's Gate has a more active community than NWN1 and 2 put together. Decide for yourselves whether this means anything, but you can't always tell what's going on just by looking. The reason there are less posts is probably because people are too busy doing awesome things to write stuff.

Don't forget the various PWs each have their own particular forums. Just googled a few i know off the top of my head, which seem to not be overwhelming in activity either, but comparable to the activity here. Of course comparing Sea of Dragons to Haven, you'd think Sea of Dragons is more active but only has a fourth of the player population of Haven ( Haven generally has 40-60 players on it ).

http://seaofdragons.com/forum/
http://www.alandfaraway.org/forums/
http://nwnhaven.com/forum

Activity here has no really bearing on whether the game is active, quite a few people refused to even come to these forums when the old forums got shut down.

Yup...the is a valuable use of your time...you know there is a VFX editor...you need custom VFXs to go with that if you want people to take you seriously...
