I think Zevran is the only one I haven't romance yet. There is just something about him I don't like.

I have a lot of Wardens, and a lot of Hawkes, so I've romanced everyone at least once.

However, my canon play-through for Origins was with a F!Amell who romanced Alistair, and for Dragon Age II a Mage!Hawke that friendship romanced Anders.

I really also liked the Merrill rivalry romance; wish I'd done it on multiple characters.

Revisiting after finishing all my wanted play-throughs, fully capable of choosing my favourite character and using her as my canon, who is a Warrior Hawke that swayed from Diplomatic and Charming to Aggressive and Charming, depending on the topic:

The import was an Amell who romanced Alistair, Alistair became King and after rejecting the Dark Ritual he performed the ultimate sacrifice to saved the woman he loved:

In Dragon Age 2 I romanced Sebastian Vael, down the Rivalry Path. It had this whole unrequited love thing going on that fit superbly for the Hawke in question and fueled my imagination for the future of the character.

I suppose I prefer my romances, somewhat depressing and tragic, to end in a path of self-loathing and self destruction - Both Amell and Hawke lost the men they loved and died in my story.

Done that, Friendship and Rivalry.

Though the Rivalry was definitely tragic, it was in an entirely different manner:

The relationship was bordering on abusive and although I still enjoyed the over-all experience, by the end of that particular play-through I felt completely disconnected from the Hawke I was playing, simply because I could never behave in such a cruel manner myself.

Sebastian's unrequited Rivalry path by comparison, is very much an unspoken tragedy. There is nothing particularly cruel or brutal occurring at the hands of the characters themselves, but Fate itself is intervening to crush the hope of a stable, loving and intimate relationship.

I like it when Fate is "the bastard", it means I don't have to be
