Anders FTW. Im trying to charm Fenris with my female characters good looks, but because shes a mage and literary everyone I do makes him angry. Im finding it slightly difficult.....

I had an almost perfect ****** romance with Anders... Anders Bin Laden @Ragnar Rival romance Fenris, it's pretty fun.

Female diplomatic Rogue: Fenris friendship romance. She actually started out going for Anders but then he literary scared her off. Really liked the Fenris romance.

Female sarcastic Mage: Fenris rivalry romance: Totally awsome. Loved it! Is my canon Hawke now.

Male sarcastic Rogue: Isabela friendship. Was really nice and interesting at the beginning, but the end fell strangely flat. Don't know, perhaps I was spoilt with the Fenris romance?

Male diplomatic Warrior (still in progress): Merril and it looks like it is turning into a rivalmance!

Female angry Mage (still in progress) I want to friendmance Anders (just to have an ending, where he survives), but I am having a hard time. I more or less have to play Hawke as completely fanatical herself, otherwise I don't see how you can contemplate a relationship with Anders...

I rival romanced Fenris on my first playthrough and friend romanced Isabela on my second. I have to kinda agree with Renessa that I felt Izzy's fell a bit flat at the end. I've watched Anders and Merrill on youtube but haven't done them yet myself. I have to confess, of all of the bits I've seen, Fenris' is my favourite. I just liked the dialogue and final conversation was just brilliant: "So here I am about to defend mages against impossible odds. You lead me to strange places, Hawke." "<smirk> I'll take you to stranger ones yet." Plus then he gives you a passionate kiss after telling you not to die, because he wouldn;t be able to go on without you.

I wasn't that fond of what I saw of the Anders one. I think it was largely Hawke's "We'll be together until the *day* we *die*!" with wide eyes that did it. The line about the Justice threesome was great, though, so maybe it balances out.

I can't decide between Merril and Anders. I like to have a favorite romance character, so I was wandering if someone could compare the differences between romancing the two.

Despite the fact that the four major pairings are all bi, I have it in my head that Fenris and Merrill are hetero. I blame all the Nate/Anders fanfics to perverting me to the rebel mage.

I'm contemplating a femHawke/Isabela run after I get Fenris out of my system. But that may take awhile.

I tried it once but I find Fenris and his romance extremely unappealing. I ADORE Isabela and would romance her if I could stand playing female Hawke. So I just let Isabela and Fenris have each other, Fenris is more interesting when I imagine him as Isabela's plaything

Anders is Hawke's LI the vast majority of the time.  Fenris is too irrelevant to the story, and Merrill is too much like a little sister.  Isabela is wonderful, and I do have a Hawke planned for her.  Of my 6 Hawkes... uh, well, 4 of them romance Anders (3 on the friend path, 1 on the rival path).  1 Hawke is for Isabela.  The last is supposed to be for a Fenris romance but I just can't find the motivation to do it.  I prefer romances that have stronger ties to the main storyline, which is why I preferred Alistair in Origins.

Apparently my last play through, No one, yet everyone. I'll explain, Varric talks to me, asking me whats up with my Relationship with Fenris, I am like what? I never even flirted with Fenris, I've been seducing Isabella, ok?

Then 1 flirt with Merrill(because I am not seeing the normal movement, with Isabella, minus the 1 sex scene), I let Merrill know I am still trying hook up with Isabella, move on, etc..

Isabella finally says she loves me, cool, ending kiss go me! End Dialogue, Varric says everyone left me, no one stayed(just silence at that part).

So apparently, my last Hawke got no ending hookup, apparently was sexing up Fenris, when I never talked to him, & had imaginary fling with Merrill, even though I said, nah I want Isabella.

Go me?

Did I answer this already? I feel like I did...must be a glitch in the Matrix.

Regardless, Anders. Always Anders. Even if I try for someone else...Anders. He's the most relevant to the story, his arc has the best (and worst, I suppose) pay off in the endgame, and he's the most emotionally engaging (for me, at least). Heartbreak and tragedy aren't everyone's cup of tea, of course, but it's sweet, sweet music to my ears.

My canon f!Mage!Hawke romanced Fenris, and my m!Mage!Hawke romanced Anders.

Edit: oh Maker, I'm an idiot. I accidentally wrote Fenris instead of Anders as my male mage's LI... awk for me.

I answered this already but I'm really leaning towards Fenris now. Warrior, rogue, mage even if they romance Anders they sleep with Fenris first.

From what I've read, the most you can do is 3 in one playthrough (Isabela -> Fenris -> Anders). You have to play it just right. I've not done this myself, though.

You can do all four, so long as you end up with either Anders or Merrill (I think). In my playboy playthrough, I plowed through Fenris, Izzy, Merrill (sorry, sweetheart, I'll never love you and leave you again ) and settled for Anders.

Well, how about that. That's crazy! 

So does the party banter change? I mean, I know that Isabela/Fenris/Anders have a conversation about Hawke, but are there others, too?
