Not for me. No DA2 DLC for me, since I was pretty disappointed with the game. Lucky me, I still haven't bought Golems and Witch for Origins, which is where my money will go when I invest again in Dragon Age.
Skip 'em. They're both awful.

"Defeat an ancient evil" Wow, they're going all out on originality.
Better than insane mages and insane templars who are possessed by the spirit of idiocy. If the DLC is has a proactive Hawke, some meaningful choices, and a focus on the storyline, I'll be pleased.

Well, they probably don't want to make the achievement too much of a spoiler, so a rather generic description makes sense.

Perhaps this ancient evil is an insane mage who, through an unfathomably evil magical experiment, manages to grow an equally insane templar out of his torso and then they fight for control for ages until you come around and get the exciting and morally difficult choice on which one of them you want to kill. And then the survivor turns on you anyway. And then a very confused stripper bursts out of a cake.

My biggest hope about any NEW dlc to DA2 is that it will take us outside Kirkwall.. I am so effing tired of running around in the same city and in the same dungeons over and over and effing over again.

Well, I believe your prayers will be answered, cause I think the setting will not be Kirkwall....
sorry had to edit it in case of spoilers:bandit:

Sorry, why? Why bother? It's not even a continuation of the story. It's Exiled Prince all over again.
Note to self: do not preorder DA3.

Honest opinion: so far it seems like it only adds 1 darkspawn dungeon large sidequest, and this sidequest has only 1 outcome. I mean there are no alternate ending trophies here.

Its more than one quest. Read the achievments and heres a noble concept....
How about not judging something until you heard MORE about it?

They said in past interviews that the DLC for DA:2 would be BETTER than what they did for Origins.

To be fair, DA:O DLC was so bad this isn't really saying much.

Well it's not like that bar is very high to begin with.

You see, so far jumping to conclusions with DA2 works too well to abandon that practice:ph34r:Melca36 wrote...

How about letting them make DA3 first.. and we still need some expansion's to this filler arc of Dragon Age.

Because they have said something, it has to become real?
Before DA2 was released they also told people that you will have significant impact on the fate of the story.
So again, they tell you DLCs will be better in the future, really? Better than what...better than arrival?
Would they also be honest to you, if their new DLC was the cheapest piece of c**p?

Then uninstall the game if you don't like it and unregister it while you are at it. No one is forcing to buy this DLC or any future ones that come out..berserkerblob wrote...

Is is 100% confirmed that you won't be able to play this as if post-finale?
Pretty much. It's not like they're gonna be able to explain how Hawke reappears and gets everyone back together...Mike Laidlaw..
But
it certainly is story driven. Some...interesting revelations in there,
and we've gone to lengths to be sure you can engage with it at any point
in DA II after you reach Kirkwall, including from the post-game save
(which, like DA:O, takes place "just before" the events of the end
game).
Read it very very slowly.
Wait what the hell.....
How can the post game save happen just before the end game? It makes no damn sense.
What they are saying is that you can play using "post game save". But DA3 will detect it (in save file transfer), as an event that occured before the ending of DA2.

I'll wait to buy it just because I finished my first walkthrough and I want some more new content before starting the next (even if, I'm afraid, without the toolbox there won't be many interesting mods and thus my second run won't happen very soon)

How does "defeat an ancient evil in the vimmark mountains" get described as "conductor"? I'd better be able to kill it with music. Or lightning. Or, possibly, a metal conductor's baton that channels lightning. And an orchestra of viola playing darkspawn.
Edit: Also, WTH is "Hawke's key"?
It's it obvious? The main antagonist in the DLC is going to be an evil train conductor that forces you to go down his sinister railroad and be present when NPC's do importain things that you can't have affect on.
