i'd very much like for this dlc to be good, but i'm not holding my breath, and i'm not buying it at release, if at all. forget the whole DA2 fiasco, i'm still bitter about witch hunt.
Sums up my feelings exactly.
Seriously, And I hope some devs are reading this. The way I feel about this DLC? I feel like a lab monkey that's been given eletroshock treatments every time he's tried to grab for a bite of food. Now he's afraid to even reach out for anything offered. That's how I feel about this DLC.

This is how I think all DLC should work. It's a side-quest.DarthChicken wrote...
Mike Laidlaw stated here: http://social.biowar...ex/7697770&lf=8 that the next dlc is called Legacy and can be activated at any point in the story.

I can empathize with these feelings, it's only natural to be reluctant if you feel like you've been burned before.

If Bioware released more DLC for DA:O, ME1 or ME2 I'd buy them without hesitation because the games are bywords for quality and the best the RPG genre has to offer. The same can't be said for DA2, Regardless of the quality of the DLC, the parent game can't be changed and you can't polish a turd.

Dude was that rreally necessary? Instead of telling how much of a "turd" the game is to a devs face, maybe you should just wait for reviews of this "turd" extension.
The game won't be changed dramatically, but at least we'll see what the devs have in mind for future DA content.

I'm hoping DA3 returns to the quality of DA:O. DA2 is a lost cause regardless of any future DLC released for it. The DLC sits within the parent game so 3-4 hours of playable DLC within 50+ hours of seriously flawed gameplay will not rescue the game. For me DA2 is a dead game, I'm pinning my hopes on DA3 and ME3.

Some DLC and maybe an expansion might make my experience with DA 2 a little bit better I suppose and if Bioware knows how their reviewers and fans are they should be able to make it good (DA DLC in the past has never been so great, except for Awakening and the launch DLC for Origins, those were good.)

Thank you for your reply and understanding. I hate that I feel this way as I really do love the Dragon Age world and lore. I've been a fan of BW since Baulder's Gate and have bought every game since then. I'm not knocking this particular DLC, but IMO, (aside from DA:O and Shale), the games and DLC set in this universe haven't been up to BioWare's normal quality.

Hopefully by "quality" you don't mean a voiceless hero, unresponsive combat and never ending dungeon crawls.
If by "quality" you mean a story on par with Origins, more environmental exploration, more character customisation, more character interaction and choices that actually affect the storyline, then i completely agree.
You shouldn't view this upcoming DLC as a saving grace for DA2, moreso as a preview of what is to come (A very breif one at that).

As for the content, I don't really think the achievements have spoiled anything for me. I am very excited to be travelling to a new area with SiblingHawke.

i cant understand how this dlc will be accesible during any act and at the same moment contain some serious plot or continuity value..i mean i srsly wanted a conclusion to the abigious(horrible?) ending and clearly this dlc is not it
Been away from the forums for a bit so don't know anything about it.
And .. the ending wasn't that bad. I mean more like a WTF moment for me though.

Look, the world is about to go to war. But Act 3 rushed everything. Create an expansion, DLC, whatever, but you need a closing Act that settles everything in a more satisfying way and sets up the big things that have been foreshadowed .
And I like the game. But I'm just being constructive and real, here. I think a lot of people here would welcome that. I have faith in you, Bioware. The great thing about the age we live in is that you can make a solid game a great game by just creating a little more content. Will some fans complain about having to spend money? Probably. But people always complain about money. But from an artistic direction, and not a monetary one, you have a chance to redeem yourself. One more Act.

I'm very leery of anything DLC at this point. But it seems EA won't support a real expansion pack, so that's where we are.
Source?
As for Legacy, I'll buy it. If it's really horrible, then that could be a problem. Otherwise, I don't care. But then again, I'm one of those who sort of liked DA2.

Is it "just" a story DLC? Bioware stated that it listened to feedback & applied it. So...does this go for this DLC's story exclusively or will this DLC include some core fixes/options etc. that a Patch cannot cover?
I'm not sure that core fixes included in a non-free DLC would be a good move. Actually, I think it would be the worst move ever in the history of bad moves.
Hopefully the "fixes" would come as a patch..that everyone would get, not be forced to pay for? Would be unusual if the only way things got fixed, you were obliged to buy the dlc, that's not a good idea.

I'm going to say one more thing in this thread, and I hope, hope, hope the devs will listen. What this game needs is an Act 4. The last three years. Clear up some issues, see where Hawke is hiding or living and bring Hawke into what I think would be a better cliffhanger than what we have.

Why can't people LEARN TO SPELL!
Its Baldur's gate! BALDUR'S!!!!!!!!!
*headdesk*
If you played it then you should know how to spell it. I bet you say Thrown Of Ball instead of Throne of Bhaal. Eugh.
I see it all the time. "Baulders Gate". Makes me want to facepalm so hard; its as bad as when people say Kaiden, and then claim to be MASSIF MESS EFFECKTS FANSSS YO! Yeh if you can't even spell it you ain't a fan mate.
We need more moderators for these forums lol.
@Ned
I agree with you there.
SideQuest DLC just isnt going to cut it. Even a side quest the size of LotSB would still not be sufficient. The game needs serious patching, rebalancing, and fleshing out so that the game doesn't die so soon; that requires a full expansion.

I don't think many companies find expansions feasible anymore...or do they?
