Even though they are trying to destroy all life, I like them.  Out of the two Reapers, Sovereign and Harbinger, I like Sovereign the most.

I think they're just misunderstood.

As an enemy? Yeah, I think they're really cool. "Like" is a really vague word. And I agree, I liked Sovereign more too.

I used to like them...but then they went mainstream.

Serious note. Ya, they arent bad as an enemy. And I dunno why but I liked Harbinger more, he seemed more intelligent and sinister then his counterpart.

If they bring more to the battlefield that makes my gameplay hell then I'll respect them as an enemy. What would the Reapers be without Harbinger's voice? That comical yet foreboding voice. Yes, I like the small nuances about them. Let's just hope that when they arrive, it won't be a couple of shots and then they're not functional. All the hype and mystery surrounding them, I want them to work just as hard trying to kill me as I am trying to kill them.

I likem. Each Reaper well so far had different personalities. The one or ones? in the last ME booked seemed to be the most "nice" at least that had a conversation with the doc.

Despite the whole "destroying all life" thing, I don't hate them. I don't even feel angry or bitter towards them. There are so many, they are so strong and so far ahead of us, they feel like a force of nature...to me, it would be like hating the ocean current for dragging you under.

Yet, unlike the ocean, they still have personalities, which makes them more interesting.

I still count on them being there as the lesser of two evils, which is why cerberus is probably working for them (instead of simple indoctrination of an entire organization all of a sudden), why Harby claims they are salvation through destruction, why the humans on Horizon should be prepared for ascendence and why their existence transcends our mere understanding.

Would be a nice twist if done properly, don't know how it should be done though :P

They are interesting enemies, but I did feel like Harb was a step down from the awesome that was Sovereign.

Bioware should make reaper cuddly toys. Harby would sell like hotcakes. He could have a pull-cord that makes him say random one-liners like "I KNOW YOU FEEL THIS". Okay I probably just showed my age with the pull-cord bit...

Edit: actually what do they have nowadays? Voice activation or something? I guess I'll find out soon enough. The wife is preggers...
:o

Actually I've been pondering trying to make a LEGO UCS [Ultimate Collector Series] scale Sovereign. Problem is getting that many bricks in purple/blues w/o spending a fortune :\\

I'm not sure what to feel about the Reapers yet. If their sole reasoning for wanting to destroy life every 50,000 years is to reproduce, then they'll pretty much just be like zombies and rabid animals, and I'll hate them. However, if their motivation is to stop the abuse/misuse of dark energy/matter in a plot twist to stop suns from exploding prematurely like at Haestrom, and ultimately protect and maintain the very fabric of the universe, then I'll like them, and possibly even join them if they are protecting the long term health of the galaxy.

I think the synthetic filter used on Sovereign's VO really made the character. I've got no problem with Reapers having distinct personalities, but at least make them sound equally synthetic and legion-ish. No good having one that sounds like an ultra-intelligent AI, while the other sounds like the Wizard of Oz talking into a plastic tube. Edit: make that the Wizard of Oz, impersonating Jigsaw, eating Yoplait Tubes.

Harby's VO sounded cheesy, but they might have saved it if they put it through Sovy's filter. Maybe tweak it a bit to sound less grating.

In other words, I thought Harb was the lesser Reaper, too. :(

What's to like? They don't have oceans, no beautiful women, not this emotion called love ... according to the old vids, they don't have anything we want.

@ Mr. MannlyMan

Yeah, I think you hit on the real issue. Sovereign sounded utterly alien and menacing - even for the short time you conversed with him, he gave me creepy chills and I loved it. I DID fear him. Harbinger became smack-talk Reaper with a much less terrifying VO because that same filter wasn't used again. Unfortunate really. I still like Harb, but after the stage they set with Sov, it really didn't compare.

Sure, I like 'em, right up until they decide to turn you into a human milkshake. Other than that, they're not so bad.

I love the mystery behind them, and lack of backstory. Makes me think of the cthulu mythos. If only Harbinger could shut his mouth every once in a while.

We humans could use a Reaper fleet to travel through Dark Space if we could teach the ships some empathy.

Shepard: It's like... basically you try to understand what someone else is feeling. You know?
Harby: BY ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL OF THEM?
Shepard: No, no, not like that. By using your imagination.
Harby: IMAGINATION. A FEEBLE ATTEMPT BY ORGANICS TO UNDERSTAND THAT WHICH IS BEYOND THEIR PERCEPTION.
Shepard: Well, yes, you could put it like that, but -
Harby: DIRECT CONTROL IS SUPERIOR.
Shepard: No, no, listen Harby, this is important. Direct control is immoral, you understand?
Harby: MORALITY. AN ORGANIC DELUSION, THE WIDESPREAD ADHERENCE TO WHICH IS BENEFICIAL FOR THE SPECIES AS A WHOLE.
Shepard: I think I'm gonna need some more paragon points for this...

I like them. They're actually worthy enemies unlike some enemies in videogame history.. ahem Dr. Eggman and Bowser for example. The Reapers are dark, mysterious, sinister, coniving, gruesome with their technology, and most importantly, a dangerous threat that needs to be quelled.

The Reapers are definitely menacing and mysterious. One can't help but feel helplessness and desperation when thinking about surviving the Reaper invasion. However, I can't really say that I like them due to the fact that their motives are incomprehensible. They're too alien for me. To me they're like the Dementors from Harry Potter, an embodiment of Fear, beings who follow their instincts (er..programs?) and nothing else. Unlike Saren, I have no emotional investment in the Reapers at all (other than annoyance, but that's Harbinger's fault). They're just animals that need to be put down.

If you're asking if I like them as a really good and interesting enemy in a game, then yes.  I find the Reapers to be quite interesting and exciting.

If you're asking if "like" the synthetic god-ships that are coming to destroy all life in the galaxy, I feel considerably less positive about them.
