Will 100% rival templar Carver attack you if you side with the mages? How about completely neutral, midline Carver? Does he care one way or another if he becomes a Warden?

What about Bethany? Potentially, she has a lot more on the line, if you side with the templars.

if you side with the mages, you do not have to fight carver. at the end, he says hes loyal to meredith, but when she goes insane, he puts himself between you and meredith and fight for you. it dosen't matter what his approval is like, i believe.

If you have bethany with you, and you side with the templars, i believe meredith kills her right off the bat or something like that, i have never done it yet, just read it.

Rivalry Carver is still the same old hostile bastard, he'll be ungrateful when you help him (Grey Warden).
Friendship Carver is more accepting, thanking Hawke for helping him (Grey Warden).

No idea about Bethany or Templar Carver.

I found a couple of videos that show some of the outcomes:

 - Killing Bethany (which is really, really difficult to watch - for me, at least)

Thanks for the links. I had already seen the "Carver's two paths" one before I posted the question, but I found that it did not help much. It would have been more helpful if the video showed where the friendship bar was for the different Carver paths. Some of them are clearly different versions of the same scene, influenced by the affection Carver feels or does not feel. Ordinarily, I would say that the Carver who seemed more friendly had the bar more on the friendship side, but it's hard to tell with Carver.

Actually, the Bethany video did not affect me that much. I felt a much stronger affection for Carver. His relationship with Hawke felt much more real. As a RL twin with a competitive sibling, the "bratty sibling" felt very familiar and strangely comforting. As long as the barbs were flying, all was right with the world. If sis started acting all affectionate and rational, my first thought would be "Oh gods, tell me you aren't dying."
