In ME3, what are some ways that you would like squadmates to be able to interact with each other?

ME1 Romance vs. ME2 Romance, one character romancing another, huge rivalry on the scale of Alistair and Morrigan...

There's a particularly good thread about the possibility of Kaidan mentoring Jack. Visit it if you have the time.
Any other ideas?

Less banter that the player has to stop and listen to like in DA, and more conversations with multiple companions or cutscenes of interaction between companions like in KOTOR.

Yes, why don't we ask for the world while we are at it. I would love for mulitiple "interactive" cutscenes between companions its just not happening.

banter is fine for now.

Never said the cutscenes had to be interactive. Banter here and there isn't bad, but in DA2 I would find myself spending an hour or so at the end of each Act going through possible companion combinations to see what they had to say. That and other random NPC dialogue would make it easy to miss things (I prefer not to play with subtitles).

That is your problem. Not much people did it your method, I just heard em' when I heard em.

At least in ME1 your companions had conversations and asked each other questions while riding in elevators and such. There was very little interaction between companions in ME2...

That's because fans complained about elevators. And guess what? Now we have loading screens. yay! Sometimes I think Bioware's loyalty to the fanbase will be their death.

I would like more banter. I don't think it necessarily more complex- using DA:O as an example, there are only two or three times when you needed three particular members to have a conversation- but it does add flavour to a story without being too resource heavy.

Yeah, Bioware should ignore the fanbase and listen to you, the true fan! <_<

I definitely love banter, companions talking to each other and offering their opinions in conversations. Feels as if companions actually can speak without being prompted.

I'd actually be interested to see dialogue between love interest and other characters. I have a character who romanced Ashley and is friend with Jack and a character who romanced Jack and is friends with Ashley. A confrontation between the two of them would be pretty terrifying to watch but I think a non-clashing conversation between them would be very interesting in it's own right. There could be several versions of different LI theme banters too.

It won't be that difficult to implement.

Certainly not more effort than creating a braindead scan the planet minigame.

it.. wont be difficult to implement interactive cutscenes of dialogues? Do you not understand how games are made or something?

Actually in Star Ocean:Last Hope (a JRPG) your companions do have lots of dialog and banter between them .. and not just dialog .. they interact with each other (something that's totally missing from ME) a.. not to mention .. walk and move around the ship do various activities (a space ship which is like the Normandy) instead of being fixated by glue in one room the whole time.

@King Zeel
It is easily doable .. if Star Ocean Last Hope could pull it off then ME3 could ... there is no excuse for not including that type of varied interactions/banter at least on the Normandy ... it adds a ton of liveliness and personality to the characters .. instead of making them spend their entire on-ship time glued to the ground like a talking jukebox.

I had a topic about that if anyone is interested in knowing more --> http://social.biowar...3/index/7492108

What makes NPCxNPC interactions very interesting in SO:Last Hope is that they really interact with each other like real people, they don't stand stiffly in the same location in the ship doing the same thing during the entire game like in ME2 or ME .. they walk around .. they quarrel .. they argue .. they talk ... they do stuff ... and not in cut-scenes .. but rather in real-time while you can walk around engage in conversations with them and ask them questions or answer their questions (all while waiting for your ship to warp from location to another in space .. or you could skip all of it and Sleep/Hibernate till destination XD)

While your space ship is warping from location to location in Star Ocean every time you interact with some of your crew around the ship .. time skips and you are closer to your destination and also your crew members are all doing different new things ... this really makes them feel alive an human way more than the (standing juke box) approach that ME2 and ME uses with characters on the Normandy .. they never interact .. you never see them do it .. they rarely state any opnions about each other .. they rarely do anything varied (just the same thing they are doing ever since they came on board)

Did I ask you to make it for me?

Troll.

Go make your own little RPG and whine about how hard it is to debug. I promise I'll rant about what a ****ty job you did then. Otherwise, don't spoil other people's not-uncalled-for criticism which the developers seem to be keenly interested in feed back for, just so you can feel good about bad mouthing everyone who disagrees with you.

If you want to talk about variables and sprite conditions that would be standard game programming that any CS major would be able to write on his calculator. Grow up.

I would like the NPC's to actually acknowledge each other's existence outside the battlefield. Kind of like Kasumi and her little gossip around the ship. But I guess party banter is fine.

I for one would like to see companions having relationships that don't center on the main character. Typically, when we see companions interact they are either gushing over the main character, fighting for the main characters attention, or just simply being hostile to anyone who isn't the main character.

I'd like to see some companion friendships for once, it's not like they don't have anything in common. Why don't the biotics on the crew ever talk about their powers, or what amps they like to use, or why don't legion and garrus talk about sniping or something, I don't know. I want to see the character's relationships change over time, maybe argue without Shepard intervening.

I'd just like to see them bond, become a true team and not just Shepard' Lackeys.

Inter-squad banter would be great. Especially if you can do a Paragon/Renegade interrupt on inflammatory remarks! =D

That would be interesting.
I don't see why party banter couldn't be implemented in such a way at a plot point conversation, such as team-meeting scenarios seen in ME1. However, I doubt random in-party banter would open up such choices.

First of all, no its not easy, citing a few games that does it means nothing. I could easily debunk that point by citing games that DON'T DO IT. So, how about we use some logic when arguing our points. Try this. Bioware can't do it because of the time constraints. The amount of **** they are "implementing" already. Thank the fans for all those useless features we are getting, instead of Bioware focusing on quality, we get a bunch of useless fan gimmicks.

If you're upset by the lack of companion interactions you've only got yourself to blame. you wanted more romances, well guess what? they have to cut down on something to do it. You wanted s/s romance, well guess what? They have to cut down on something to do it.

So suck on it folks.

I think that it would be reasonably- or perhaps relatively- easy to implement. You need the audio files and relevant plot flags up and running; it's considerably less complex than cutscenes, assuming we're speaking of ambient dialogue while running around different places and not 'let's hold a chat right here and show our faces!' sort of thing.

Don't worry about him. He's just a trolley troll who's been spammin' around for the last two days, since he signed up (and didn't register any games). Methinks he's Elite Midget, or a friend! Posted Image

This.

Kasumi's little observations did a lot to bring the ship alive, much more, I think, than the dialogue trees. Mostly in ME2, the characters feel like they're in their own little worlds.
