So I get the email about the hack..and I then spend hours trying to find my cd keys for Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2. I call Bioware tech support and they send me to Bioware corporate. The person I talk to there says send an email to bioware support. That was awhile ago, the day I got the email in fact about the hack....so what gives? Are we screwed like we were for those who Bought endless dungeon and now cannot access the download for that? Where do I find my Keys registered with Bioware? Please help..wanna play NWN 1, 2 and MoTB, Soz....thank you

If you have the game already installed and at least ran it once. You have the keys. Look for the CDKEY.ini file for both NWN and NWN2.

We really should have a sticky for this.

Ok...as I uninstalled the games I have no CDKEY.ini. So what do I do now...Those keys were supposed to be stored by Bioware and they gotta be somewhere.

I assume that you no longer have the manuals that have the keys printed on them?

If that's the case I can only suggest to keep being a thorn in the side at the support desk until they support your case. In the mean time, keep trying to locate your manuals if possible and do make a backup of your keys once you find them again. I have several written papers as well as saved files of my keys. We have to protect ourselves you know, eh?

The manual did not have the key. The gave us a stupid small card with the cd key on it. Manuals are hard enough to keep track of but those cards are just impossible not to loose. Cheap idiots working at EA.

You're kidding me? I must have been lucky to have the keys printed right on the manual. I really wish I had a better answer to help you all out besides keep looking for your printed keys.

I had all my older Bioware games registered here, along with those keys. I'm thrilled! Boy this is exciting... :(.

I also would like my CD keys back... I have no way to access them other than to see them on my account.

I am totally aggravated now...tried calling Bioware corp and was put on hold so log I said f-it....this happened when atari went down and I lost the ability to get a game I bought, Endless Dungeons. calls and emails to everyone involved resulted in my loss of a game I paid good money for. Does this happen again?

I had all my CD keys stored on the site the beginning of nwn1. I belive I have my manuals, but I really wonder what the long term resolution of this will be? At there any other links about this issue, or official word?

I would like to be able to access them online again too. It was really handy being able to copy and paste them when reinstalling NWN1 and 2.

I know. Is there nowhere left to actually enter them again? I notice that NWN2 (nor NWN1) can be registered with Bioware. I know that the games are old, but come on!

I noticed that you all still have your accounts. My email said mine was deleted. Is that not the case?

What is going on? I lost my system that could play the games, but when I get a new computer I'd like to have my CD keys. I too have tried contacting bioware. Am I going to lose one of my all time favorite games?

Does nobody keep their documentation that comes with games anymore?

I could suggest that the reason many people seem to lack their documentation is because once the requirement for playing with the disc was removed their physical disc + docs somehow passed on to someone else, possibly through trade or eBay, and they have continued playing themselves.  Of course I know that gamers are notoriously honest and respectful of copyright law and the rights of authors to be paid for their work, so I would never suggest such a thing.

I registered my keys as well. But I certainly still have all of my materials for all of my games. I am far more concerned about the loss of knowledge in the old forums

Regards

I've owned NWN1 and NWN2 for around 10 years combined, so no, I didn't pass them on. However I've moved several times since then and the CD keys are now lost. Had I known that Bioware would lose the keys, I probably would have kept better track of them.

Really hope Bioware does something to fix this mess.

Not to be pouring salt on old wounds here.

Why would you depend on a site to keep your keys safe? I have backup copies as well as the original keys. When they, Bioware, said that they were locking and would get rid of the old forums. Why didn't so many make backups of there keys then? Again I'm not picking on anybody here but unless you were really not playing NWN & NWN2 the chances of saving your keys was there.

I think at some point they may put the keys back up but nobody knows for sure and when if ever that will happen. Now this sucks for those who really do need their keys now. The only thing to do is to keep emailing Bioware or Atari. At some point an answer will come. May not be the one you're looking for though.

If I dont get y keys I will Badmouth this company online and Off. Their Security sucks, and then they lose my Keys. Also They probably got my presonal info stolen so I could have Identity Theft. If they care about their customers at all they will give them to us. They already screwed up big time. They should just load the games we had onto the new Origin Program you can Download (its like Steam)

I think they just got rid of the old user areas as all the old links just direct you to the bioware home page, or if you try to login, you're redirected here.  I never received any email about a hack.

Then you didn't have your account info stolen. B)
