Will there be some possibilities for modding in ME3? Access to console window like in ME, or will need to add changes to a coalesced.ini file? As we have done on these forums ME2 - Modding is Possible I - III (PC Only).
I really do hope BioWare open for modding!

Inge

Mods ruin games... you are essentially slapping the developers in the face saying that their game is not good enough for you.

That's the way I see it.

I see it in the complete opposite way Vicex. Were I a developer, I'd look at it as people instead enjoying the game so much that they're willing to put a lot of time and effort into altering it to fit them a bit better, rather than simply moving on to another game.

For example, I created the mod 'Return of the Clones' for 'Star Wars Empire at War' (and 'Forces of Corruption'). Does this mean I dislike what the devs did? No. But I wanted a Republic faction in the game, and that had never been provided by the devs even though they considered the idea. How then, is me putting in countless hours of code modification alongside other very talented people making models and textures a slap in the face? I enjoy the game so much I want to keep playing it in new ways, and the very base gameplay hasn't changed.

It really is a compliment, not an insult.

ruin games? Are you kidding me? Have you ever seen TESIV or Fallout with mods? They ENHANCE the game.

Mods gives games replayability, if anything fans that dedicated to working on the game themselves is a tribute to much that game is loved.

I am sure they intent you not to do so but I can imagine people will find a way of modding it

Most game developers like mods; they just don't support them.

Have to agree; mods enhance the hell out of games. I am usually neutral when it comes to console vs pc. But with games like fallout, and TES, they are DEFINITELY better on the pc due to mods.

L4D also, the user created maps are great, great fun. Economically, you can and will get more bang for your buck. There are some very awesome modders out there.

The best that Bioware can do is make the console return and perhaps make a coalesced.ini editor, but further modifications would be a problem due to the engine.

Bioware will do all of that if they realize that there is potential, right now, I am sorry but there isn't.

Don't get me wrong, there are some really great mods out there, but the only thread focused on modding is mostly for the modders themselves, there is a lack of decent tutorials, and well... there isn't even a ME modding page.

Modders, you need to help yourselves first.

Make a website, or at least a thread, that includes all of the available mods, which are placed under various categories, include detailed tutorials, etc.

What is there to say; I will continue with the modding, and I think also Phoenix, Captain, Epic and more will continue with the same, and it's actually something other can use.Like Captain say, it's a compliment..

Of course, you will reach a high point for modding. The bottom line is we can do it, and have some fun at the same time. And finding some new aspects in the game.

There can be made a site "thread" for limited access. Modders only. But we don't have any problem with sharing this with others..

Exactly, you change the game for you liking.  This liking often means, make it easyer for you to play the way you like. I consider that cheating. Developers could do something more usefull, than this.

You know, I'm really getting tired of this pretentious, holier-than-thou attitude that some posters here have regarding cheating modding. Just because some mods have the potential to make the game easier, doesn't mean that all mods will do so. On the contrary, I'll bet money that if modding is possible, most will actually make the game more challenging or add a unique twist. Besides, since ME is a single player game, how I choose to play is my own business, not anyone else's. As long as users are not infringing on BioWare's property rights, I think they should be able to mod to their heart's content.

I support this. It'd be nice for modders to be able to add user created questlines kind of like how you can in Oblivion.

Hell, I'll voice act if someone can come up with good recording equipment.

Nah, that's not what I meant.

The modding community and it's creations are great, nobody doubts that. The problem is that the average guy or gal who has just finished a playthrough of ME1/2/3 and wants to spice things up is overwhelmed by a ton of information. A few tutorials and an accurate list of mods would certainly help, but at this point, when they enter they thread they seem nothing but code that has no meaning to them.

Modified Maps or entirely new ones, something restricted by the engine, I believe?

Ok I understand. It may be engine related, the PCC'S not being able to be repacked after editing and still work is the only issue that stalls true modding. <_<:crying::(

I just hope they have a seperate HD texture pack and other High-Res goodness for the PC version.
Modding would be nice though.
