I'll be very grateful if we get to visit Omega AT ALL in ME3.. but that mercenary vs revolutionists thing could be cool. I certainly know who I'll be siding with if it comes to that.

But at the moment, I'm just aching for it to be confirmed as a location in ME3. PLEASE, BIOWARE! T_T (Oh, and let us explore Afterlife some more. From the description in Retribution, it seemed a lot bigger than what Shepard got to see).

The Terminus systems has lots and lots of big merc ships and groups and Aria has a lot of power so yeah it does make sense and I bet Aria could somehow convince the Batarians and people of the Terminus systems to do some damage to the reapers.

I bet Zaaed could help too but I don't think he could help TOO much because he's a DLC character but I bet he could still make a difference

^Well most people do have Zaeed, since he's free DLC.

I guess he can do a lot with this I suggested.

Without any buildup in ME2? No.

At most, see a change of hands to Patriarch, or a civil war.

^Do we really need a build up for that?

Also Omega is big, could happen anywhere and any time.
Plus Omega is full of propaganda from criminals. I'm sure they would try to shut them up.

This sounds like an interesting idea for DLC, but I think it sounds too tangential to the war effort to be a good use of Shepard's time in ME3.

Well like I said before.

It should be optional.

Mercs vs Revolutionists? Sounds like a good idea, although in ME3 I hope Bioware will stop making mercs out to all be bad, in reality most mercs are ex-soldiers who just couldn't adjust to civillain life, and most merc groups only take on ex-soldiers with atleast a few years expierence in the military. Most mercs would not be so easy to take down.

Where did you see revolutionists ? Aria fully control the situation on Omega and only the three groups mercenary threat her and her power.

Aria's one of the best love interests that never happened......but should have happened.

If the scenario happens I'd go along with what she said unless I disagree.

I just want to go to Omega again. As captivating as this lawless, seedy, Blade Runner-esque world was, it simply didn't feel alive enough. Or big enough. That's gonna change come ME3!

Ah, as someone who loves Aria I have to say I am biased towards anything that can show Aria in bad light or make her weaker. :P Even though some ideas can be executed beautifully and not cringe-worthy.

On a more serious note, however, I think that ME2 quests + dev's promise to return important NPCs in ME3 ("I have always been someone important", heh) = a good ground for some Aria vs mercs conflict. Theoretically this can even be tied to the main storyline/progression: if you need eezo -- a great amount of eezo (to upgrade Normandy, to make some kind of eezo-working weapon against Reapers, whatever) -- wouldn't Omega be the place to get it? So Shepard would have to choose a side and resolve the conflict first to get eezo...

That. Or planet scanning. :P

I'm not sure about the revolution, though... Drug dealers, smugglers, all kinds of criminals wouldn't probably want to rebel -- why would they want any kind of law or control over them? As for simple civilians (Nef's mom, a couple we've met on the lower levels, etc.) who are probably not happy with Omega as it is... Well, depends on many factors, I guess, on factors we don't know much about. What is the ratio of criminals and mercs to civilians and miners on Omega? How many of them are actually ready to oppose mercs/Aria? The problem is, revolution is very dangerous and risky because your opponents are trained to kill, highly-skilled and armed; I assume that civilians are less prepared. Moreover, why should you risk your life if you're just a miner that came to Omega for several month just to make quick money mining eezo?

What else... Omega has been a lawless place for pretty much several centuries, so I assume that all current inhabitants --

- either came to live there willingly and are ok with it (so the chance of them being unhappy with the current situation isn't very high);
- or ended up on Omega because there was no other choice and can't leave as of now (the chance of them being unhappy is higher but I think you're still unlikely to risk your life if you are going to leave the place sooner or later);
- or were born on Omega and consider it their home (I think the chance to rebel is the highest here because if you are want to stay somewhere and you know your children would be living here you would want to fix something you're not happy with).

/guesswork

I guess I still can imagine a small kinda-revolution that bursts spontaneously after something outrageous mercs did. Revolutionists are starting to lose, then Shep comes and saves the day. Or doesn't.

There's also one thing to note (not very related to the OP, but still). While Aria doesn't actually protect civilians (she thinks that everyone should be able to stand up for oneself, I guess), she never actually harms them. Archangel wasn't bothering her in the slightest. Why? He wasn't messing with her or her people. Why? Because her people didn't do anything to civilians. That, or her people are good at covering their tracks and/or Garrus decided not to break Omega's rule (which adds to Aria's badassery ;P). Also, Jonn Whitson sends you an e-mail starting with "Hey, Aria gave me this address". Nef's mother, Diana, also gets commander's address from Aria if I'm not mistaken. Yes, she has a soft spot for civilians. =3

^One word.

Archangel.

He showed them they can be opposed. So why live under those scums?
