'course that's not good enough for some people who want to then dilute that by insisting BW promote another shepard to appease them, at the cost of the established brand identity, but that's another story.

Ignore Jebel, hes just bitter because hes spent the best part of a year telling femshep fans they will never get any promotional material. Such as the below threads. Now its been confirmed she will be I think hes embarressed that he was wrong. He making a point to show his disgust in any thread which talks about it of late

Oh and as I said to you before Jebel. If Bioware thought it would hurt the brand image they wouldnt do it.

it's the last act of the trilogy, if BW want to chase that 20% minority, who can argue with that?
your (and others like you) self-righteousness is what i find intolerable, because if the shoe was on the other foot and they had chosen random female a to be default shepard, there would never have been any fuss: everyone would have just accepted it.
as it stands, i don't understand why they don't just go and market lots of custom shepards - play up that angle, as obviously the "shepard" brand ain't worth a damn any more - mass effect is obviously big enough to stand on it's own. 2 "default" shepards is completely illogical.

I hate you, now, for using the exact same wording I was going to use, and beating me to it, thus removing my one chance to make myself look like I know what I'm takling about.snfonseka wrote...

Well clearly you are, because your making a point to state that its hurting the brand image on every appropriate topic you see even though you have little to support it and your opinion. In fact I would counter and say with the 15+ media articles all supporting femshep getting promotional material it is in fact aiding the brand image. Plus it seems we cant win. If Bioware never listened you would clearly be happy and carry on. Now they have listened suddenly were "self-righteous" because were happy about it.
Anyway, Im not going to discuss it further and distract from the OP topic. Its Bioware who have decided the directions for marketing and im glad it wasnt as set in stone as well all thought it was.

you mean the 15+ articles that all copied each other for column inches, the same 15 that do it for every little tidbit of info that comes out for every major game? yeah, whatever.
proven advertising methods that have worked for the last however many years are hardly my opinion as you quaintly put it, but again - whatever.

Female Shep getting promotion makes a little more sense since she has her own VA and different romantic subplots, and gives the same a slightly different flavor.

After seeing this, I went down on my knees and thanked BioWareGod for Sheploo. And God for Mark Vanderloo.
