Is Sheppy going to have the pencil/giraffe neck of ME2 which is most visible when peeking out of cover, looking at the bulk of his N7 armour i'd say that much less of his neck should be showing because his shoulders are built up so much by the ceramite and plasteel.

Yeah I know i'm a picky whiny OCD git, but you've got to realise these things keep me awake at night and require serious counselling by world class therapists or a shrug and a beer whichever is closer to hand.

Giraffe neck was reaaaally bad for femshep in ME1(extremely evident early on when Shep is brought back aboard the Normandy and wakes up in medbay) ... they corrected it a bit in ME2.

People still have necks that are way too long though (I can see why though, it has to do with armor & clothing design).

Oh and Blothulfur, your avatar pic scares me :crying:

Yeah the Giraffe neck bothers me, it's most visible with Femshep.

it becomes less noticable if you give shep the thickest neck possible.

Ooh I thought it was just me, nice to be in company.

@Hathur: Personally I think my avatar's a bit of a handsome devil I can imagine the ladies of Par Vollen butting heads over him.

There's nothing wrong with a girl with a long neck. *nibbles*

Your Giraffe neck complaint can go beside my obsession with my FemShep's sharp cheeks as an uber-example of nitpicking.

:lol::lol::lol:

Ha, so long as we can nitpick and obsess over the team name, costume and ideology for a few decades i'm on board.

Cusegirl look at where his shoulders are then in your mind take away the armour and you'll see what I mean and it will haunt you to your grave.

In ME2, try talking to someone, then the moment the conversation ends, turn around 180 and run.
Giraffe neck makes its return no matter Shep's sex... and it bends awkwardly out of position. x.X

Yeah the armor masks it well.. and it is much less noticeable on male shep.

However, dress him on the normandy in some of the various clothing outfits that have a low collar (load up ME1 and look at him where he had no collar on his uniform) and you'll see it's a fair bit longer than should be.... this was done clearly because of the armor design.

Femshep it's more pronounced because ner neck is considerably thinner (even at the thickest setting)... in most scenes it's not too noticeable (especially if you wear the black cerberus uniform with the high collar) or are decked out in armor. Other clothing though makes it very noticeable.

Also, certain dialogue scenes make it very pronounced as well, depending on how Shep turns her / his head.

It was much worse in ME1 though... just check this video of my femshep to see what I mean (jump to the 2:10 mark and watch for a few seconds)

CuseGirl, Vanderloo's neck is certainly longer than average.. but he's looking up slightly and craning a bit as well.. were he at rest / natural pose it wouldn't seem as long I suspect.

Take a look at your average person out on the street, family, friends, etc though and their neck is rarely ever as long as portrayed in Mass Effect, hehe.

I agree, FemShep's neck is longer than neccesary but certainly not abnormal or impossible.

I screamed the very first time I saw it when I first played the game -- actually jumped and recoiled from the sight of it :pinched: .. was glad they sorta fixed it in ME2 (though not quite fully.. but still a lot better). And her neck is also at the thickest setting too.

True, there are tribes in Africa that place copper or brass rings around their neck to slowly stretch / extend it over the span of a few years (it's a vanity / sex appeal thing... like makeup, high heels, etc for our part of the world)... FemShep kinda looks like she could be from one of those tribes, hehe.

I use default Man Shep because he has the most polished and acceptable look to me, plus he jusst seems like he is Shepard with all the marketing from day 1, but I know that isn't the case for everyone. I hope they fix the necks for you guys to have a better experience.
