All my male Shepards have the default face..I am just used to it. And in my opinion, it looks better than any male Shepard I have ever seen.

Think I'm in that  Xbox club now... think the playthrough I've just started is either my 24th or 25th.

Anyway, got Sheploo on one, but the rest I've customised. Although it's pretty tough to make a guy who doesn't look "special" IMO. My most recent Manshep looks a bit like Ramona's second evil ex in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

I always use the default for MaleShep. I think Sheploo is as good as MaleShep's appearance can possibly get.

I always play the default male Shep. Why? Because I can't make one decent face in the character editors to save my life

Well, I don't play male characters when I have a choice, but if I did I wouldn't use the default face because he's white. I would want to make a black or asian one.

And now, the Shepard I do play:

I don't use the default face because I don't like the way she looks and I like darker skinned females. I also don't like the hairstyle and for the female Shepard, I ended up settling on either the ponytail or the shaved head look.

Hopefully I won't have to make that choice in Mass Effect 3. If Ashley's hair is any indication, the hairstyles should look a lot better than they have in the first two games.

I tried... but Bioware's BEGGING me to customize Shepard and I can't say no them them. haha.

That's a good one, RainyDayLover. Have you got a facecode?

I also play only custom Shepards. Eight so far, four male and four female. I can make various good female faces. Male faces are harder but doable, except I always end up with no hair looking best. Haven't been able to create a good-looking maleShep with hair.

Indeed, the fact he was built outside the usual CC means his appearance is much better then anything we can create otherwise in terms of textures and detail. 


Oddly im the opposite though.  My first play with femshep was with her default appearance and my main Male shep is a custom appearance.

Though, I think it requires you download Kaiden's face texture. (I haven't played as a male Shepard so I haven't really tried it)

It does appear to have Kaidan's facial structure slapped within it. I don't think you can create that using the standard in-game CC.

I like personalizing my character. Sure, there is potential to make a hideous monstrosity, but it can also make the whole experience more immersive.

Yep, I always use default male Shepard. Looks the best in my opinion, and he's become the face of Shepard for me.

Same here. Everytime I hear the name 'Shepard', it's Vanderloo's face I see in my head, but that's thx to the marketing.

Default Shepard IS Shepard for me, my main Shepard uses the iconic face.

I use both default male and female Shepard.

Both look perfectly reasonable to me.

I play as standard/default Shepard because i like the way he looks. The voice fits with his look. Maybe thanks to the trailers but i love that look.

That is Commander Shepard.
