My canon Shep is default appearance and name and backstory (Earthborn, Sole Survivor) and he's a "Paragade"

Out of my other three Sheps, one I made is original, the other two are from MassEffectFaces, some really good ones on that.

My four Sheps should have nearly every outcome I could need when importing to ME 3 i.e (Save/destroy base, rewrite/destroy Geth, save/kill Rachni Queen, Wrex dead/Alive) you get the point, oh and different romances and of course a pure evil and single Renegade Shep, he's a BIG fan Cerberus and their ways and is currently making sure they have all the resources for ME 3 (Leaving David as the VI in Overlord, giving Legion to them, keeping the base etc etc)

Should be fun.

Sebastian Shepard - Paragon with a hint of renegade in him
Rico Shepard - Renegon
Joseph Shepard - Renegade, loves Cerberus and all they stand for. Looking to kill all of his crewmates on the SM except Zaeed and Jack.

Michael is the default face. After having to play sixty levels with my not so great custom face in ME1 I went default in ME2 and I found it works really well.

My female Shepard always uses a custom face though. Personally it seems easier to make a good looking female face than it does a male face.

My Canon Shepard, Paragon Earthborn War Hero James Shepard (Damn you Vega!) is custom as are all my Shepards. I can never let a customization feature like that pass me b as long as I can end up with a passable face.

you're most likely not the only one... I used the default Shep for all my playthroughs in both games, because I think his face is the only one that matches the voice perfectly, and since ME is sort of a cinematic experience for me, I don't want to change the lead actor.

Not that I have anything against the default look but I have never used it. I like to make each playthrough it's own unique experience which means I like something different everytime. With that said I might do a playthrough using the default appearence but just one.

My canon Sheppard is the default one (appareance, name and class) but instead of being Sole survior and earthborn he is War Hero and Spacer.

As you can see, it's much easier for me to create a custom fem!Shep whose look I like. I've never managed to complete an ME 2 run as an m!Shep period. I'm working on one now, though, but with a custom m!Shep who, for once, doesn't make me want to throw a paper bag over my TV screen.

I´ve been playing mostly with femsheps one which is fully custom, couple of others from other players face codes and Marilyn Monroe look-a-like and I actually got it right or very close. Never played sheploo, although I have three male shep play throughs.

The problem, IMO. is the lack of good skin textures. If we had good skin textures the custom faces would look much better.

except this week I started a new ME1 play and started messing with the male face creator and came up with something workable at least (I can't get past "that Grin" with Sheploo)

 Am I the only one who cringes every time they read a thread title that starts with "Am I the only one..."?  

On topic: with the face generator I've managed to make just one Shepard that looks okay to me, and that was a struggle. He looks human, which is pretty good going for a facegen Shepard. He's got an honest face and makes a good paragon, I think. He looks slightly older and much wiser than Sheploo, which I think is a good thing (Sheploo looks so bloody gormless sometimes) but he's also kinda ugly and looks a bit paedophillic when he romances the teenage girls on the ship. So when I want to do barely-legal seks with Liara, Tali, or Jack, I use Sheploo.

All of my male Shepards use the default look. I do have to to change the hairstyle of my female Shepards although I do keep the basic face.

For some reason, it's always difficult for me to make an attractive male Shepard. I use this face:
(not my creation) Femsheps tend to all look relatively the same no matter what I do, so I always use my own custom femsheps and do the best that I can.

Oh God I've struggled with this since ME 1 on the PC. I wouldn't mind default Shep, and have used him in my first playthrough of ME1-2, but since I hate that little goatee stubble he has I eventually make my own character.

Up until last week I was still struggling to get a face I'm satisfied with but I think I finally did. So probably gonna use that one in ME3 instead of default Shep.

I never use default, I prefer making custom Sheps.

default male shepard looks like a convict from prison break and i hated that series.
