Boss-Breaking Bug?!?

Jepp, you heard right, I wrote "Boss-Breaking" and before you are left wondering what exactly I mean, here you go:

Just in the recent one and a half hour, I easily defeated an Ethereal Golem, Hybris, another Pride Demon and a Vertarrel. No big deal for most people I take it.

The funny part though is, I didn't even got a scratch as those boss enemies couldn't fight back. My Sword and Board Warrior knock-locked them just as he was beginning to start hacking away at them, no exception. Every single one of them was completely unable to perform any task whatsoever, Hybris for example wasn't even able to cast one of his abilities whilst I happily killed some time, quite literally in these cases.

Has anybody else experienced such a behaviour, as in this being a known bug, or am I the first to come across that issue?

Yes, I have. Just since the update, with the Arishok, Orsino, and a few demons I can't remember.

I'm ashamed to say I took it as a gift. O:)

(On the PS3, btw.)

They did tweak force effects to be more player friendly with the patch. I don't recall them saying it made enemies easier to knock around though, just that it made players more resilient against being knocked around. It would be rather unfortunate if they broke bosses as a result of that fix however.

Never play Wicked Grace with a cat, they'll swipe cards when you aren't looking.

And they have mages as friends that are not above frying some Templars should need arise ...


Anyway, back on topic. If it helps, some more data:

-DAII v1.03
-Level 22 Shield and Board Warrior
-Weapons have been Satareeth LS with Devestation Rune or Trust and Cut LS with Cold Rune (modded to improve upon leveling). Shield was/is Vulcanic Shield (also modded to improve upon level-up, kudos to Sunnie22!).
-Armor has been the Golden Prince armor set with Rune of Defense in every slot.
-Activated talent were Turn the Blade and Shield Defence (plus Dog ...)
-I had modded my Anders to have Spirit Healer per Console, haven't come across other problems though.

It's more funny when an ogre charges at you and then instead of sending you flying he falls on the ground as if hitting a brick wall.

Difficulty: Hard
Attributes on my S&S Warrior (approximately):
Strenght: 39-42
Dexterity: 20-21
Magic: 12-13
Cunning: 12-13
Willpower: 31-34
Constitution: 32-34

classic Tank build:
Almost full Sword&Shield tree (just missing the Shield Bash Upgrade and the Immune to Criticals Passive)
Almost full Defender tree (just missing the Stonewall Upgrade and the Immunity to Knockdowns Passive)
Pummel Strike and Taunt fully upgraded respectively
Templar specialization (Silence without upgrades, Cleanse Area without upgrades, Holy Smite with Rightious Smite Upgrade and Rightious Strike Passive)
Berserker specialization merely unlocked


Those are the informations you required.


And as an update, I do not seem able to knock-lock Ogres, to the very least not to the extent of those bosses, I can stall them a bit, but inevitably, all of them broke free as opposed to the bosses.

I got this too.

The Arishok seemed to resist most of this though.
Other wise most bosses even Meredith were beaten up bu this.

Ok, I just tested it a little on Hybris, Ethereal Golem and everything that moves in Xebenkeck dungeon. It seems to be an issue with Righteous Strike, like the warrior is silencing them 100% of the time (which would be weird, since Hybris is supposed to be immune to silence) and it doesn't prevent the enemy from basic attacks (at least for Revenant). When I removed Righteous Strike, everything got back to normal.

The issue doesn't seem to be restricted to difficulty (tested on all) or Bosses (worked at least on a Templar Lieutenant, Golem and Arcane Horror)

Patch 1.03
Abilities that apply a silence effect now also cancel the target's
current action in addition to preventing the target from using further
abilities.


Possibly a side effect of this? Though by reading it should only interrupt when the silence lands.
