I'll admit I haven't played DA2 that much in the last week but I hadn't noticed specifically the new lag in companion ai, but I'll take your word for it...I wonder if you tested this out on nightmare difficulty; at the beginning of an encounter using as much aoe friendly fire as possible to kill a specific party member whether he/she will actually die or not when redueced to 0 health? Or maybe even try using friendly fire to kill a party member immediately after he/she has been revived during combat and see what happens.

i only play nm. ff kills instantaneously. revived allies, from all accounts have been fixed and return to combat as normal. The issue with immortality is only with enemies. This is simply a side-effect of the delay at the start of that enemies combat lifespan. Everything I've explained is simply a side-effect of that singular change to the combat system. All these bugs that are being reported with the new patch involving the combat system that were not present prior to it can be linked directly to the delay. Unfortunatly, its impossible to simply patch to 1.01 to identify the differences viscerally by anyone that didn't play much of the game prior to this recent patch.

If the game was at the speed of Origins it wouldn't be a problem. Once you start to speed things up, any hiccup can be catastrophic. This added delay was unnecessary to say the least. Developers need to stop listening to everysingle whining child in a feeble attempt to satisfy everysingle person. The scope of the changes to combat should have been allowed to be tested before release. In my eyes, the delay was added as a last touch to the patch without being tested fully. Otherwise these problems would have been experienced by the testers at bioware.

Graphical. Not Game breaking, but not attractive.
During Isabela's Companion quest during act 3 "No Rest For The Wicked" When Castillon enters his armor will flicker first and throughout the scene most companions armor/necklaces with do the same flickering, and it has visible auras. Each time the scene is triggered for me.

Orsino in Harvester mode when Hawke is ripping its head off, the blood on the body will flicker.

Gameplay/Graphical
The "Monstrous Spider" in the Drakestone mines during "Justice" On Hard difficulty, When it attacks all hits are critical strikes, I repeated it multiple times until I turned the difficulty down to beat it. its blood will also flicker on the corpse. (ps3)

No, I was just playing the game for fun, I just noticed that whoever the spider struck, their health bar would flash white and massive chunks of health were being taken out over and over. I turned it down to just get passed it. It was definately a bug because prior to 1.02 this did not happen. I just don't know how repeatable it is for others.

^ ^ I reloaded multiple times because it kept killing me, each time it caused sequential critical hits.

I'll post this here as well.

Can someone (on Xbox360) confirm, if The Final Thought actually does nature damage? I just bought it (begining of act 3), but it seems that it is still a physical damage staff. The description saiz it does 48 physical damage and the damage numbers shown when attacking are coloured white (for physical damage). I know it is supposed to be a nature staff as of 1.02/1.03, but it is not so in my game(s).

I started 2 new games after the patch and both have physical damage on Final Thought.
I went through some 1.02/1.03 patch notes and came across this.
- The items known as Final Thought, Sataareth, Sundering, and Trepanner's Gift now have damage types that match their elemental damage bonuses.
Sataareth and Sundering got elemental damage bonuses that match their damage types (the opposite of what the patch note said). I don't know about Trepanner's Gift, since I don't have it. But The Final Thought seems to be the same as it was pre-patch. Can anyone else confirm this?

Dunno. Maybe it's just me. I guess we need a confirmation from another Xbox player.

To my knowledge there aren't any enemies that are set to auto-crit every attack but I've been wrong before:happy:

So it's Xbox specific then, not just me. Good to know.

I can write a guide on how to fix this via GFF editor, if anyone is interested.

Nope. i've been using a mod that fixed +x% damage a long time ago. Wouldn't even have noticed if the patch did anything.

What do you mean with +% damage? The patch didn't change the +% damage modifiers on The Final Thought. It was supposed to change base damage from physical to nature, but that didn't happen in my case.
Can another Xbox player confirm this please? AreleX maybe? I will write a a guide on how to fix it via GFF, as soon as we get another confirmation about the issue.

I posted this in the 360 self-help forum, bit I'll post it here too.

Isabela left my party because I had not secured the needed friendship/rivalry. Her attack bonus is showing up on my abilities screen even though she is gone, and I can still "see" her equipment and upgrade it at the enchanting station. Does anyone know if the Sebastian/Isabela bug was fixed? I thought it had been fixed earlier. I installed the game on the hard drive quite a while ago. Should I uninstall and reinstall everything?

On the PS3 version:

I'm unable to enter the Chantry after finding the letter on one of the enemies if I leave Hightown and return. Also, I'm unable to complete the mercenary's (Meeran's) quest when I went to the docks at day time. I arrived at the docks near the stairs that led right to the guards and after killing them, the quest wouldn't update.

I'm fairly certain that 50% friendship required for her ability to appear. I'm also fairly certain that same 50% f/r needed for her to return. Since you have her ability activated, but she didn't return, I'd guess this is because you didn't complete her Act 2 Questioning Beliefs quest, and not because f/r was insufficient (at least, this is what I had to do to test it). I may be wrong though.

Does anyone know if the Sebastian/Isabela bug was fixed? I thought it had been fixed earlier.

The infamous Isabela/Sebastian frienship bug was different:

Isabella gives you 5% attack speed increase, if you remove her from your party, save, and reload, you will get a 5% decrease in attack speed.

What you're describing is not related to that. This seems more like an oversight to me then a bug, though.

And just for the record, both issues - Isabela's friendship bonus active after she left party and her equipment available for enchanting - happens on PC too.

Oh look, it's Friday night, DA2 testing time!

A guide on how to fix a staff called The Final Thought via GFF editor.

This is meant for Xbox players that didn't receive the fix with the latest patch. As of patch 1.02 (for consoles) the mentioned staff was supposed to have its base damage changed from physical to nature. But there seems to be a bug on Xbox360, where the staff still has it's physical base damage instead of nature. Basically, it remaines the same as it was pre-patch. Wich sucks, because as a nature damage staff, it is one of the best, if not THE BEST mage weapon in the game. So, if you are experiencing this issue, follow these steps and you will be spitting massive nature damage in no time.
And a word to the wise. Do this this at your own risk. It is wise to always backup your saves before modding, in case something goes wrong and a save ends up getting corrupted.

Step 1: Go to this thread social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/307/index/6749366/1 and download everything you need to get started. Also, read the instructions on how to extract, open up your save-file in GFF, and get it back on your storage device. (SKIP THIS STEP, IF YOU ALREADY HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH MODDING XBOX360 SAVES WITH GFF EDITOR).

Step 2: Once you open your save file in GFF editor, you have to locate the staff.
-If the staff is equipped on your PC mage character, go to SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR -> SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR -> SAVEGAME_EQUIPEMENT_ITEMS. Expand the directory and look for an item called "tbe300im_final_staff".
-If the staff is in your inventory, go to SAVEGAME_PARTYLIST -> SAVEGAME_BACKPACK. Expand the directory and look for an item called "tbe300im_final_staff".
-If the staff is equipped on Anders or Merrill, go to SAVEGAME_PARTYLIST -> SAVEGAME_PARTYPOOLMEMBERS -> gen00fl_anders / gen00fl_merrill -> SAVEGAME_EQUIPEMENT_ITEMS. Expand the directory and look for an item called "tbe300im_final_staff".

Step 3: Once you have located the staff, expand the directory and you should see four expandable sub-directories called ITEM_PROPERTIES, ITEM_PROPERTY_POWERS, ITEM_PROPERTY_EFFECTID and ITEM_PROPERTY_VFXID.

-First, select and expand  ITEM_PROPERTIES. You should see an option called "Add" in the bottom left corner. Click "Add" and it will create a new entry. Now click on your newly created entry and enter "10005". Remember to hit save (in the lower left corner) before moving on to the next step.

-Next, select and expand  ITEM_PROPERTY_POWERS. You should see an option called "Add" in the bottom left corner. Click "Add" and it will create a new entry. Now click on your newly created entry and enter "1065353216". Remember to hit save (in the lower left corner) before moving on to the next step.

-Next, select and expand  ITEM_PROPERTY_EFFECTID. You should see an option called "Add" in the bottom left corner. Click "Add" and it will create a new entry. Now click on your newly created entry and enter "-1". Remember to hit save (in the lower left corner) before moving on to the next step.

-And finally, select and expand  ITEM_PROPERTY_VFXID. You should see an option called "Add" in the bottom left corner. Click "Add" and it will create a new entry. Now click on your newly created entry and enter "-1". Remember to hit save (in the lower left corner) before moving on to the next step.

Once that is done, simply save your file in GFF and work towards getting your save-game back on your storage device. Once again, refer to this thread social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/307/index/6749366/1 if you are new to this.

After you load the modded save, your TFT should have 48 base nature damage instead of previously (pretty useless) 48 physical damage. If anyone is wondering, what we changed by adding those new entries and numbers to the property list(s), the awnser is, we added a nature damage type to the weapon. Simple as that.
So there you go. I hope this helps all of you unfortunate souls out there, that are experiencing this rather annoying bug, and I also hope BioWare will fix this (for us Xbox guys) with the next patch.
If you have any questions or comments regarding this guide or otherwise, go ahead.

PC unpatched and patched, its the same.

Rogue - Duelist

Throw the Gauntlet -To the Death upgrade - Does not function. Sometimes the target won't engage the rogue, other times will switch within a couple of seconds and seek another nearby target if they are near. (They are not supposed to)

Also noticing a huge rise in low level mobs becoming immortal. If I adjust the party to another target or stop attacking it dies by itself a few seconds later. (patched PC version)
