Is it just me or does having Merrill in party lower the party's health? The Attributes/Derived Stats look fine but the actual health bar in combat is much smaller for everyone and it's a very noticeable difference as to how much punishment they can take before dying so their health must really be smaller as the health meter depicts, despite what the attributes page says.

The widths of health bars are relative to each other and don't reflect actual stats. There's a pre-set max bar width, and the character with max health in your party will always have the bar with this width. Width of bars of other character are calculated proportionally.

I assume your Merrill has a lot of CON, that's why when she's in the party other health bars are "shrinking".

Ahh, that's probably it, thanks. I was lazy with her, hadn't used her in forever so when I put her in my party again and had all this leveling up to do, I mainly just slammed a whole bunch of con at once in fear of the blood/mana nerf - along with plus health accessory or two, lol. It's weird everyone seems more fragile now with her in the party though. I guess that haste makes a big difference in outgoing dps. Not that I'm complaining, lol. Glyph of Paralysis is really nice too, esp with a haste'd up party and Merril can't cast that either.

I'm posting this because it is a bug that I accidently came across in the PC version and I'm hoping it will get fixed. Had to revert to a previous save to un-do it.

Here it is: when you have an ability point, you go into the talent trees and do the usual heming and hawing over which ability you should spend your point on. (This is what makes the game fun; having to strategize). If you're like me, you'll pick an ability, and then decide "No. I don't know if I really DO want that one." then you click it again to un-do your pick.

Now here's where the accidental cheat happens. When you pick an ability, it will automatically appear on your quick launch bar. When you then decide to un-do that pick, the icon will still appear on the quick launch bar, but if you put your cursor over it, it will say "null" instead of the name of the spell. No description of the spell will apear on the right.

If you then move that "null" icon to a different spot on the bar and then put your cursor on it again, it will correctly say the name of the ability and a description will appear on the right. You still have your ability point remember, since you un-choose your choice. If you exit the menu and go back to the game, you can now USE the ability that you supposedly de-selected.

I was able to duplicate this several times and it made me feel disapointed, since I no longer had to hem and haw over which ability I should pick. I could just pick them all.

I can confirm this, too.

To reiterate:
1. When leveling up, select an ability - icon appear on the quickbar
2. Without leaving the abilities screen, de-select said ability - icon on the quickbar stays
3. Move icon to another slot
4. Leave the abilities screen
5. PROFIT Free ability gained - de-selected ability can be used.

I noticed this too, and it seems to happen after I get one of Merrill's armour upgrades, the one that adds a bunch of health to her health pool...

Bug/Error type: Not sure if it would be ability, mechanic, functionality or other
Bug/Error: My characters sustained abilities are not reserving the %mana/stamina that the ability description says it should be reserving. In fact the actual %mana/stamina being reserved is alot less then it should be. For example, my lvl 15 Aveline currently has 123 total Stamina and she is using 3 sustained abilities, Bravery (30% reserved), Might (20% reserved) and Shield Defense(15% reserved) making her total reserved stamina 65%. Therefore she should have 73.8*/123 stamina reserved leaving 49.2* stamina for her to use for activated abilities. However, Aveline actualy has 37/123 stamina reserved with 86 stamina left for the activated abilities. My lvl 14 Anders is using 1 sustained ability (Heroic Aura) which should reserve 20% of his 214 total stamina or 42.8*/214 mana reserved but after activaiting Heroic Aura he still has all 214 of his mana with 0/214 mana being reserved.

Does anyone know of any items, abilities, settings, etc. that I might be overlooking that would effect these character stats? or heard of any existing bugs, like the Maker's Sigh bug, that might be at work here?
(using PC, patch 1.03 and nightmare mode, if that's relevant)

*Not sure if the game rounds these #'s up or down

Yeah, it's been mentioned before.

And speaking of Sebastian, did anyone notice his slow "sprinting speed"? And by that I mean running around with his weapon drawn. It's as if he is running slower with his weapon drawn, then with his weapon on his back (it's usaually the other way around). At first I thought it was an archery thing, but then I tried running around with my archer Hawke, and his sprinting speed seemed waaaay faster than Sebastians.

Dunno, if this is really a bug, but it just seems (and looks) a little weird.

Looks like it's relevant to this. I haven't been able to figure what causes this and how exactly does the bug work yet, though.

Bug (platform: PS3 ver 1.02):
* I'm occasionally seeing corpses that are selectable, even though they have no loot.

Suggested Tweaks:
* Enchantment Bench: in the same way you do in the inventory view for items a character doesnt meet the prerequisites for, please consider SHADING OUT out items items that are (a) borne by party members who are not accessible (ex: bethany or carver if they're in the gallows, or isabela if she's left the party or is in hiding), items that are in storage, and © items that have been moved to the trashcan.

* Gather Your Party Horns: Please consider adding them to (a) the foyer of the Hawke estate (similar to the ones in Fenris's mansion, merril's hut, and outside Anders clinic), to the gallows main square (where Meredith tells you to get ready before initiating the first of the climactic final battles), and to the gallows prison (after the fight with orsinio). The latter 2 in particular are important, because currently the player has no ability to cycle though their stable of characters in order to handle level ups (particularly for characters we've been reunited with - e.g. bethany/carver), adjust gear, adjust tactical programming, cast buff spells, etc. Simply throwing the player into combat the instant they select 4 characters, with no time to make adjustments, is awkward for pacing, and is directly contrary to the brief respite that the story pretends to give you ... but doesnt.

* Inventory View & Storage View:  Please consider expanding/improving the item sorting options, particularly for item sets.

* Change Weapons:  please bring back this capability, even if it's only to switch between weapons of the same type (such as a mage switching between 2 favorite staves, or a warrior between 2 favorite 2H weapons).  Having that would help declutter the inventory view.

This is also happening in Xbox360 post patch.

IMPORT BUG. During the quest "Dark Epiphany" the Codex entry "Grey Warden Letters" does not reflect my decision form the first game. The game acts as if I told Avernus to continue with his research ethically when I told him I would not be his judge which should result in him continuing with his research without restrictions. I thought this should be reported as it may affect future imports. I have the PS3 version of the game. You can find the codex entry's here: dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Codex_entry:_Grey_Warden_Letters

most, if not all import bugs are resulted from flags failing in DA: Awakening and can not be fixed by patching DA2 as it is simply reading what the da: o/a save is telling it. what it is telling it, is what you see. This, more than likely, will not be fixed.

just an fyi.

Just though i'd say Zevran is still alive, but thats porbably been mentioned many times already.

There is also a gameplay bug i've run into.

When playing a Force Mage and casting "Gravatic Ring" around a large boss opponent, once that boss reaches the middle and tries to initiate an ability, it becomes stuck and is unable to be targeted until the ring wears off. There i also a very loud feedback sound that is created while this is happenning, and all other audio is drowned out.

Already a fix for this on the nexus.

Surface dwarves do, per canon, lose the resistance to lyrium their ancestors possess. Seems reasonable to think that they'd lose magic resistance as well.

That said, how this jives with the Carta's magic immunity, I couldn't tell you, apart from the fact that nonsensical immunities seem to be a deliberate design policy in ME2.

Anyway, PC player here, confirming ISI-Society's bug: periodically, corpses will display loot sparkles but be unlootable, either by direct click or "attack next" button.

PS3, No battle cries for Hawke or Anders in Vengeance mode, there should be Justice battle cries right? If so, there are none.

For those of you on xbox that are having issues with Final Thought: try deleting The Black Emporium DLC, start a new game, save and then go out and redownload and apply it.

The way the weapon stats work the data gets cooked in the first time you load in to that specific area. For main game this is reset at the beginning of each act but The Black Emporium is independent of that so it'll be set the very first time you walk in (even if Final Thought isn't available for purchase yet). We're looking in to why this isn't working for Xbox but I suspect it may be due to the way it is stored on the system.

Found my answer... I think I'll just wait until legacy comes out and just use the staff we get in that dlc. Here's hoping it has two rune slots lol

This one didn't work for me. I did as suggested when I started a new game, but when I reached act 3, the staff still had physical base damage. Oh well...

Platform : PC (1.03)
Bug/Error type : quest
Bug/Error: description : At the end of the game, when Varric speaks about the followers which stay with hawke/or not, he doesn't recognize my romance with Anders (rivalry romance). He say everybody left hawke....
I just hope this bug doesn't prevent the correct setting of the flags for DA3 :(

thanks for any help

@Ritalove
This was discussed in Anders thread, and It's arguable whether it's actually a bug.
On rivalry path it's heavily implied that he's going to kill himself after the Gallows battle is over (he outright says it in non-romance, and hints it in romance). I think someone asked devs about this, but we have no confirmation either way.
