If some of you know in ME 1 that on the Alliance News Network (ANN) that it revealed that Shepards mom is alive (dont know about the father). Do any of you think that Shepard will get to figh alongside his mother. If he does that would be sick. (Also I dont know if its just for Spacer background you get it). So opinions?

Actually Im playing ME1 right now and it said her name. I never heard it in ME2 :\\

Doubt it... well, not directly anyway. It's been said by someone important (can't remember who) that ME3 will tie up all the character background stories as well, so no doubt she'll make some form of appearance.

I just hope that if you go Colonist/Ruthless, then the batarians automatically get wiped. That'll save me the trouble of doing it myself.

It'd be nice, since Shepard made it so she never became the admiral she deserved to be.

Yeah that would be nice to fight along side our mom for spacesheps but what if for shep dying ending his mom decides to take his place hence saving him instead. A shepard still ends up defeating the reapers in the end. Would any spacesheps let Hannah do that?

I can imagine a mom raging at someone whenever he/she doesn't call on time or misses her calls.

Imagine the rage Shepard will get from his mom when they meet

"You were dead for 2 years and now you're back!? Go clean your room!"

Hahaha that would be perfect. But she would be upset. Shepard would most likely get wooped.

Heck, I can even see romancers demanding she be romance-able
They are already going at it over in the romance part of the forum about everything from Geth to table chairs.

Don't give them more ideas by bringing up Shepard's mom.

It might be interesting if you find out the Orizaba is destroyed/disabled but don't find out about her fate until later.

I'm not sure killing her off would have too much impact given that she's not really a well developed character, it'd have a major impact on Shepard but not as much on the player.  It'd be interesting to be able to choose how to react to the news at least, although they'd have to be careful about what options they give (and they probably couldn't please everyone even with 6 options).

I just hope she's alive. I have my doubts since the Alliance Navy has been wiped out and she a Captain so there is a good chance her ship went down in low earth orbit

That's the problem with getting to choose a PCs first name, its doomed never to be used except maybe in text form. It made me giggle that Liara calls Shepard "Commander" in the pre-Ilos scene.
Shepard's mam will probably just use a nickname, I vote for lamb chop.

Hannah is only Spacer Shepard's mom. So doubtful they'd put her in. Earthborn Shep is an orphan and Colonist Shepard's parents were killed by slavers I think.

I've often thought that there ought to be some form of text-to-speech program that could speak the character's name using samples from the voice actor. Granted, some names would get horribly garbled, but perhaps there could be a database of common names read by the voice actor, and names that don't appear on that list could just be nicknamed by the initial. For instance, Hannah could call "Diplodicus Shepard" by the initial "D" or even "D.J.", but would call "David Shepard" by his name.

'Son' 'daughter' 'honey' all work. The only time my mom used my full name was when I was in trouble.

Not that big an issue. Certainly wasn't one in DA2 or the Cousland Origin in DAO.
