Pics won't load :(

Actually the Mantis Gunship (The one that shot Garrus in the face) looked like the Slave 1.

Your just as crazy as Skirata if you think that. The two look nothing alike.

Normandy SR1 was inspired by the B1 bomber/strike fighter and SR71 Blackbird.

....Is it just me, or does the Slave 1 look like a Wang?

Wow.

Why not just call the rehab clinic yourself and tell them you're a drug addict, because you're on some powerful stuff.

This is the worst thread I have ever seen. Ever.

Well I've read my fair share, but to prove that there are also great threads here, I give you: Cerberus is Building an Army!

And there are many more great ones out there on many other topics ^_^

Ok. It's definitely tougher now, but I STILL STAND BY MY STATEMENT.

Except the SR71 was a high speed reconnaisance plane, with early stealth capabilities.

Honestly, this is what I thought of when I first saw the Normandy SR-(7)1

Yeah, I'd even go as far to say that this was the impression they were going for. It's a pretty similar precedent, with both the Blackbird and the Normandy being amoung the first generation of stealth vehicles of their kind.

I resent that remark. I still don't see how people aren't seeing the similarities in basic body style. though the SR-71 is another very strong ringer for it.

Lol. Me too.

And nice props of showing the name similarity too that stresses it.
Only thing missing was that they had called the normandy for "silverbird" or somethin in that vein :P

The SR-71 was only stealth in the literature. It wasn't really stealth, just fast enough to outrun the missiles shot at it. Even the FAA tracked the Blackbird as one of the "largest radar targets" they ever detected.

That being said, the Normandy does look like an evolution of the blackbird. As far as the Slave goes, They're only similar in that they have a long curved surface. The peak of the curve is in different places. The cross section of the two ships is fundamentally different, both horizontally and down the length of the body. They're similar in that they both seem to have some concern for aerodynamics (namely, drag), but other than that, I don't see it.

You resent a remark that you stated people could call you by? Why put it in the title then.

Oh and for similar looking ships/planes I think Hathur nailed it in comparison to your crazy idea. ;)

The Normandys do look more like the SR-71 than they do Slave-I

If you tilted horizontally maybe. But it'd also look like most space ships.
