Words can't describe how cool this would be for an Adept.

Combat suit (vacuum friendly) + trench coat.

There really weren't light options. Even basic N7 armor was more of a medium armor class. If you wanted light armor, it would be closer if you didn't wear shoulders, and wore a smaller chest piece.

I don't care for the Nano suit. It's functions don't fit the mass effect universe and it loks closer to collector armor than anything else.

I disagree. N7 was plenty light. If anything, I wanted ME2's armor to be heavier. Kestrel is the closest to what I really want. Although, I did like the Power Conductor shoulder plates, the round ones that gave you +5% power damage. Being a Soldier, though, they weren't all that useful for me.

How about the ability to slot individual armor pieces with mods, including the ability to mount weapon systems on your armor?

I don't care for weapons on your suit. I think that's pushing it but maybe some tech devices attached. Like some sort of emitter for a stronger tech drone.

Mercenary Armor, and you could like put emblems and paint it and stuff to make your own Merc Group Armor, Also if your Squad to equip it as well would be cool.

Light combat suit with loose overcoat. Pop outta cover, fire off a warp, and sprint to new cover, coat billowing and rippling behind. Yep, cool.

no weapons directly mounted on the suit. do you have any idea how clumsy it would be to manouver a weapon like that sticking out? crawlling on the ground, manouvering enclosed spaces. At least most of sheps heavy weapons seems like they are designed to be carried. notable exeption being the cain.

As for the future soldier shoulder weapon, there is no way that thing could take out a modern day mbt and it would break as soon as you accidentally smash it into something (which would only be a matter of time.

For the Engineer and Sentinels, something like this. Not the arms, naturally, but the combat vest that could act as a sort of technology hub relating to the  Engineers history. It would maybe have a few more lights and buttons on it.Posted Image

FFor the Adept, something similar to this. A trench coat + vacuum friendly light Adept suit.

All I really want are more pieces that add ammo cases, supply packs, and various other pieces of equipment to the outside of Shepard's armor. I mean, Shepard has to visibly store his gear SOMEWHERE on his body, right?

I quite like the Assassin Suit in New Vegas.   If they can give it a more Mass Effect feel it would be great.  The style is quite fitting for a character who plays at range like an sleak infiltator or an adept.

What are your hopes for Shepard's armor in the final part of the Mass Effect trilogy?

One obvious wish is a toggle for helmets. You don't spend an hour creating a face just to put a helmet over it for every mission, right?

I don't mind the default in-game armor in ME2, and it appears that style will be returning for ME3, but I do mind the textures. You know, that blurry checker pattern. Really deters me from using it. It's hard to get it looking good.

As for color, I don't see why gradient based sliders shouldn't be implemented.

Natalie Shepard always rocked the Inferno Armor back in ME2, so I'm hoping to see its return. The voice filter was three different kinds of cool.

Dope, right? Here's hoping.

Thoughts?

For me, I don't have any specific requirements for the armor though. A toggle for the helmet is good, doesn't make sense to be wearing it when not in a combat zone. Other than that, the default N7 armor with upgrades is fine since the design in ME2 is a vast improvement over the ones in ME1.

Slight OT, but I hope to see the squad in proper armor during firefights.

I would like to see l/m/h armor return as a frame system. I.e. the frame determines base armor stats, protection, etc... as well as giving movement/accuracy penalties depending on the specific frame and sets the overall look of the armor. Then from there it is all up to the player to add the rest of the stuff like greaves, chest pieces, helmets, and so on and so forth.

Given how guns are collapsible in the ME1 universe, it's reasonable to believe that suit-mounted weapons could be collapsed as well and deployed only when they are used.

What's with the nano suit? Don't get why so many people like it... looks so... eww  ... I certainly don't want to see my shep wearing that (sorta reminds me of the Collector armor in Me2... never wore mine cus it was so ugly).

Yep, I don´t get it too, is just :? I hated it in Crysis 1 and I hated it more in Crysis 2 (that game don´t even deserves that name)

If you're talking about the look, it's basically because the suit HAS to be that way.  It's a semi-organic nanoweave, meaning that in order to retain its properties of enhancing strength and agility, camoflauge, and hardening on impact it cannot be fashioned into plates.  If it was fashioned more like an armored combat suit it wouldn't be able to fulfill these multipe functions interchangably or even simultaneously at times.  I do think it'd look way cooler all black, but I don't see why it'd be vomit-worthy (according to the "eww:sick:")

Not related to ME armor too much, but just wanted to put in my 2 cents about that
