Is "Profile" save file needed on multiple PS3 consoles for the game progress

Mass Effects 2 contains two save files. The "Profile" save file is copy protected and the actual game progress save file isn't. The description for "Profile" is Game Progress and Settings. Without PS+ Cloud Storage, I can only copy the actual game progress save file to my other PS3 console.

I already tried by only copying the actual game progress save file without the "Profil"e to my other PS3 console and the game loads up at the same place where I saved.

My question is the "Profile" save file really needed to ensure everything I progressed in the game gets 100% copied to other PS3 or "Profile" only contains game configurations and link to EA server? But why does "Profile" description said "Game Progress"?

Update:
Each time I saved my game progress, I saw both ME2 files get updated. I think Bioware is hidding certain game progress data in the "Profile". Question is what will be missing if I don't copy the "Profile" to my other PS3 console?

I think I have figured out what "Game Progress" data is stored in the "Profile" save. All the special actions you do while playing the game such as make the enemies scream when you kill them counter is stored in the "Profile" save. If "Profile" save file isn't copied to my other PS3, those special actions counter gets reset back to zero.

The easiest to prove this is use the terminal on Normandy and play the 3 videos on Advanced Training. On my PS3 that didn't have the "Profile" save copied over, it's like I never watched the videos.

What this means is if I playing ME2 on both PS3 consoles by only copying only the actual game progress save file between them, special actions trophies will be difficult to unlock since the trophy counter keeps getting reset back to zero every time I continue the game progress on other PS3 console.

It also makes sense why "Profile" save gets update each time I saved the game progress since special actions counter needs to be saved. Makes sense why Bioware copy protect the "Profile" but not the actual game progress save since hackers like to cheat on trophies. But that doesn't solve able to play ME2 on multiple PS3 consoles without PS+ Cloud Storage ability to copy the "Profile" save. Even with Cloud Storage, you can only move your game progress once every 24 hours since copy protected saves are restricted to copyable once every 24 hours by Cloud Storage.

My question to game publishers and Sony who copy protect saves, why can't gamers who play on multiple PS3 consoles move their game progress to any PS3 console do it whenever they want? For example, I'm playing ME2 in the living room PS3 and I need to move my game progress to the bedroom PS3. Even with Cloud Storage, I'm not allowed to do it immediately if I want to unlock trophies unless I wait for 24 hours. What kind of restriction is this?

On X360, all I have to do is store the game save on a memory card and take the memory card to other X360 console and able to continue the game progress immediately.
