 Lot's of trolling in this thread (and unsuccessful trolling at that).  

On topic:

It would be a travesty for BioWare not to acknowledge dead LIs.  There should be a proper funeral, with Shepard giving the eulogy.  It would make for a solemn moment (and give more depth to the series).

Or do you think anyone would have cared about Romeo and Juliet if they lived happily ever after?

I say let the player choose how the romance will end.  That way, everyone is happy.

Of course I want a happy ending, too.

But, just imagin if the VS would acknowledge Talis death in ME3 if you romanced her:
"I'm sorry about what happend to Tali."
And Shepard could say: "I loved her."
It would be the most epic scene! <-

I think a petition is needed to have this sort of scene happen.
Riding the Rachni Queen should be a valid mode of transport who needs the mako?

Yep! Their love would show that there's no need for conflict between the families and then their families would live happily ever after as well!
Yes, I insist that every story for everyone should have a happy ending.

Back on topic - I doubt there will be a proper funeral for a dead LI, but we'll most likely get a few dialogues and maybe a short cutscene during the game. Now, at the end of ME3 it's entirely possible to have a memorial service for the fallen, with Shepard mentioning everyone from  his team who gave up his/her life during the fight with the Reapers. (If Shepard is dead, then the service is for him/her. If Reapers won then we'll just see them partying on the ruins of scorched Earth or whatever it is Reapers do, once they destroy everyone).
