I'm hoping it's Balak. Really don't want it to be Shiala because she has so much potential.

Why did I let that space hamster live?

I should have been able to tell from the eyes that it was indoctrinated.

Not sure if this has been mentioned (still reading through the pages) but, while I can see the Rachni queen going bad via more indoctrination or just being bad all together, she would never say 'you should of killed me when you had the chance'. Least not in that exact style of wording, that's very much corny villain like dialog. She'd babble on about the song and all around the wording would be more awkward and crypticy.

Really curious who it is though if anyone, kinda hoping its someone from ME2 I haven't considered.

The tweet says that it is someone that will impact ME1 importers, so I strongly doubt that it is anyone from Mass Effect 2. Likewise, the quote was changed so that people would not be able to guess it. Given that information.

As a side note, I do not think we should omit characters simply because BioWare did not say "All Paragon importers". For one, that would be redundant as most "pure" Renegade playthroughs are going to consist of the deaths of characters who were optional in ME1. Likewise, this game allows for a morality system in which Paragon and Renegade do not count each other out. It is entirely possible that some Renegade players left these characters alive, or some Paragon players opted to think they were too dangerous. Opting to use the words "All Paragon ME1 importers" would have either been kind of self-evident, or confusing since you were not railroaded into being exclusively Paragon or Renegade.

Yeah very true as to different wording, personally I hope its the exact wording and we're given a snarky remark asking them if they really just said that. I want a corny villain line with the ability to give them a proper 'wtf, really? you just said that?'.

-edit-
Yeah guess its ME1 specifically, I hope its not fist. Specifically because I think hes dead in every import I have. I either killed him or had wrex along with him who proceeded to shotgun murder him. Off chance I got 1 import that didn't... maybe.

Depends, is ExoGeni a front for Cerberus?

If I am not mistaken, the same developer who tweeted this quote later went back and stated that the quote was altered so that we could not guess who it was. If that is the case, this is not the exact wording of the quote.

I will be incredibly disappointed if it turns out to be the Rachni Queen. Although I doubt it would be that obvious, as the past two games have already been so biased against renegade choices, it would be the ultimate slap in the face to paragon players like myself.

Because god forbid that paragon actions may be "wrong"

Ah yes, "a wrong decision by a paragon" - the sentiment that the colour blue can be associated with bad decisions, we have dismissed that claim.

Personally, I do not feel that anything short of Mass Effect 2 was biased toward renegade choices and this was only because Paragon players were forced to play nice with Cerberus. Besides, as a Renegade player, it was already kind of a slap to my face to tell me ahead of time that Cerberus is going to turn on my Shepard. Especially when I handed them Overlord, Legion, and the Collector Base. However, I am fine with that as it brings consequences to my decisions. I think it is fair that Paragon players should see some consequences to their decisions as well.

Biotic God obviously.
"My power raised beyond your imagination, Shepard. It's time to face consequences of your spilessness and overconfidence. I'll crush you all like a biotic ... tornado."
Oh well, that's just Balak.

Yeah I know it wont be the same line but there's others, nearly equally as corny they could use. I could see it being that research chick on Virmire, you couldn't off her in ME2 if you let her live in ME1. God knows shes got a habit of doing stupid things that come to bite everyone in the ass somehow. It could end up being more of a half-joke line to Shepard as he helps the person fix there 'mess'.

My money is on Toombs. He wanted to kill Shep in ME2.

I hope it's not Shiala :crying:

I wonder if by "something every ME1 importer wants to hear" Weekes means the character is someone everyone dislikes or that people will be glad that their actions from ME1 have (major?) consequences. Or maybe he is just being sarcastic?

I´d be mad if it were Wrex - not really, the ensuing battle would be epic!
Shiala would be...where´s the sense in it?! Don´t really care...
Rana would make more sense - perhaps she was somehow on the Reapers´ side all along...or just evil, like that Eclipse merc!

Balak and the Rachni Queen would be the most obvious choices...The others I don´t quite think would be such good choices.

And Toombs is after your behind anyway, since you´ve worked with Cerberus ^^

Definitely Balak or Toombs. Putting my money on Balak. The fact the tweet says "Words every ME1 importer wants to hear." implies it's something the players want. I'd say more players want to take down Balak (because he got away if you chose the paragon option) than Toombs.

Anyone like Fist, Finch, Wrex, Shiala, Helena Blake, Ethan Jeong would be very lame.

I think they should just forget the Paragon/Renegade system completely. I loved playing the game that had shades of grey type choices (Deus EX, Witcher, etc).

It seems like Bioware is still stuck in the world of child storybook telling. Not every hero needs to be a white knight. Plus not every bad ass needs to be a brain dead moron who burns every bridge he comes across.

The fact that Mass Effect made Renegade red didn't help either. Am I getting renegade points or am I taking damage?

Personally, I felt like the implication of his words was less that it was someone players want to take down and moreso that ME1 importers are going to like knowing that their playthroughs and decisions are going to matter.

I hope its not like dragon age II where you were rewarded for making stupid decisions. For example there was this demon (don't remember her name). You could kill her or let her go. If you killed her in DAO you got her items etc and in your import the items didn't carry over.

If you killed her in DA II you got her items plus a couple of extra goodies that i guess she accumulated along the way.

I really hope there aren't benficial side missions for those who made dumb decisions in mass effect I.

Depends on how you define a dumb decision. As of late, BioWare has gotten a bit better at offering logical reasons as to why you would make a certain decision. I do not recall that decision from DAO, but if there was some kind of benefit to releasing that demon for the player then I do not necessarily see why it would be a dumb decision.

Yeah I didn't ask for my playthrough to be the best. I don't play games based on being good/bad but making pragmatic choices based on the information on hand.

What I don't want is bad plathroughs to be rewarded by a richer and more expansive experience because they screwed up the series events leading up to the reaper invasion.
