And lastly, I thought it was generally agreed upon that the classes in ME2 were a lot more unique?

How were they more unquie? most of the classes all shared abilitys.

Okay what?  They don't share as many abilities now as they did in ME1 (namely because they trimmed out some fluff abilities).  Furthermore, each class now has one unique-to-their-class ability, as opposed to ME1 where pretty much only adepts had a unique ability in Singularity.  And that was cheapened by letting you take it as a bonus on any other class if you abused it enough.

Each class shares its basic skills with with one other class per skill (except cryo ammo, which has two, and concussive shot, which is soldier only).  Vanguard shares two skills with a soldier and two with an Adept.  Adept shares two with Vanguard and two with Sentinel, and so on.  The classes aren't completely unique, but they are different enough from each other for the playthrough to be different depending on class.

Global makes more sense when you think about it (it's not the power that needs to cool, it's the amp/omni-tool). But I think individual is more fun.

I prefer induvidual when i have to choose, but most sense would be mixed.

Because both induvidual only and global only coold downs has they bad sides. So, mixing them with smart ways would be better choise. If action is same kind then it's should be under global cool down, if how ever action is different kind and something with no reason why it cant' be allowed done as parallel action, then it's better be in separated coold downs. Forcing player do just one action in time isn't good. Allowing player spam all action freely isn't better. Mixing two of these system with based what kind of actions we talk, is better choise for everyone. It tries to limit spamming, while still allow parallel actions too.

Example there isn't really reason why stealth can't be done same time as AI-hacking. Because use of defensive power should not deny use of offensive power. Like one or other.

Example using different ammo powers same time, there is reason why not to allow this. Because you can only have one ammo type in you weapon. It's like choise of ammo, other way you could have to opposite effects in same ammo. Example freeze (cold) and fire (warm).

classes arent usique at all. the only thing that makes your class unique in any way, is its signature ability. i dont see much of a difference in the vangaurd having pull or the sentinel having throw, or the engineer having slam. its all a similar CC ability that can be used to accomplis hthe same thing. itd be like having cryo blast, or cryo explosion.

havent you noticed theres absolutely no discusion on ME2 class builds? that forum is dead becuase theres only one wway to make a character. im pretty sure your ME2 vangaurd looks exactly like my vangaurd. thats certainly not a feature id call unique.
