So once Mass Effect 3 has been released what is next for Bioware?

Personally I would like Bioware to close their doors and stop dragging the name they made for themselves with the Baldur's Gate series through the mud, but what would you like to see Bioware do after Mass Effect 3 is complete?

EA made it quite clear when they acquired Bioware that ME would become a much larger franchise to them than just the 3 core games. Similar to what is now being done with Halo 4. Who cares if the main plot arc is done? Reapers defeated? We'll just make another NEW plot arc. Or better, a PREQUEL trilogy!

Ah yes. The "EA Did It" response.
Whilst my post is a little cynical with respect to EA - they did actually make a public statement upon acquiring Bioware, that ME would be a large and important EA franchise that would be continued forward for many many years to come.
Whether that means Bioware make ME4, ME5, and ME6 next, or we get a ME FPS game made by Crytek or something, who knows - but expect more.

I think Bioware should get a 3rd single-player RPG francise underway...but with the Star Wars title coming up they may not.

That actually would be very fun idea.
Well spin off games.
Also, I hope, in 10-15 years we will get Mass Effect 4 MMOTPSRPG with space combat and maybe RTS too and you can also import your Shepard decisions that will change your settings.
So insane replayability.

But everyone else is probably right. They'll probably go along with ME4 and DA4 or whatever.

I really want Bioware to do an open world adventure game. Rockstar's RDR and Ubisoft's AC have set quite the high bar. I'd like to see Bioware hurdle it.
I'd like that just something now fantasy. Mass Effect though being a mercenary would offer the most freedom..

Like modern times games haven't been done to death already.Mungolian_ wrote...
Science Fiction and Fantasy are everywhere in video games. I wish Bioware would do something new, something with a plausible plot set in modern times that could actually be happening right now.

On a serious note I for one am hoping for a return to the Jade Empire ip.

But yes, I'd love a sequel to Jade Empire. But it will be a ME related title, I believe.

Hopefully, Jade Empire 2.
Oh come now, be realistic about this for a second, even if Jade Empire was a commercial success (which as far as I know it wasnt) Bioware would have to animate a number of different fighting styles (leaping tiger, white demon ect plus a number of weapon fighting styles) and potentially on a few different body types and as we all know Bioware just arent interested in putting that much work and detail into a game, in short if it cant be churned out in a year then it isnt worth doing, thats the Beaware way.
