@rynluna, I'm still gathering the best rules and moral principles. So not yet.
And what I said in my first reply was a suggestion not a must/have to command.

And how is right for ****** male play female character but nor for straight guy?

I play both too. I got maleShep overdose, though, and I've been soon close to 50/50 playthroughs.Mesina2 wrote...

And it's easier to pretend to be me there since I'm male.
Aye. Even though I feel like observer, similar to reading a book. I don't feel like I'm commander Shepard, I want to experience the story. By the way Garbage Master, you're name seems to suit you very well...Mesina2 wrote...

It is the matter of personality not as fluid as colors, smells, tastes but not too important also.
I think people should be allowed to play as whoever they want.
But what makes a hetero guy want to play as a female Shepard?
Like I said, almost 50% or more of the FemShep community are straight males. I asked at one point and most of them said "I don't want to be staring at a man's ass all day" or something similar to that line. It might also be because they prefer Hale VA over Meer, or they like lesbian action. (Liara! ... But really, double standards are retarded.) or...They wanna get with Garrus 'cuz he's super bromance material and if you want more than that it can only happen with FemShep. It's also a different experience. There are many reasons.
My reason why I play FemShep as well even though I'm straight male?
Roleplaying.

To say to someone that maybe they should take a painkiller when they have a headache makes perfect sense; it's a good suggestion that will benefit the person suffering. The use of maybe in that sentence makes it a suggestion not a command.
To say that someone should play as a woman because they are a woman (or should play as a man because they are a man) does not. It's not a suggestion at all. It's imposing your views of what you consider to be normal or right on another person.

ahh well you've just seen the final stage of these threads before the inevitable lock which was always going to happen im afraid. These threads have cropped up numerous times and the same things always occur. After the VA "debate" gets to a certain point the personal attacks start.

Oh okay. I personally don't like Jennifer Hale's voice acting (I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just not keen on it--oops, sorry for that non-disagreeable clarification. And for saying sorry. And sorry for saying sorry again) but I still tend to prefer the female Shepard regardless. Chap Shepard was okay but just didn't really do it for me, although I managed most of a play-through as Dave Shepard.Mash Mashington wrote...

Wow, someone is really burned and bitter. Where is this cult at, can you provide links?
I could certainly link to such things if I wished to derail this thread. . . but I don't. Suffice it to say, though, that I have come across a fair number of anti-male Shepard articles and attitudes in various locations around the internet (including [but not limited to] Facebook and LiveJournal) and I'm royally sick and tired of it.
I noticed a lot of MaleShep fans getting things twisted just because FemShep fans have a preference for their favorite character and their voice actor.
Actually, you're wrong. If it was simply people saying, 'I think Hale is great' or 'I think Hale is better,' or even 'Hey, a believable female protagonist in a kick-ass game, yay!' I doubt anyone would have any problem with that. The issue is that it seems impossible for most people to make any such statements without resorting to man-bashing or anti-Meer statements. That is my issue and that doesn't seem to show any sign of abating any time soon. Anything that starts with 'No offense to people that like playing as male Shepard, but...' is going to be an anti-male tirade and I am tired of having to read it/hear about it everywhere I go.
It's the inability of some (not all) fem Shep supporters to accept the fact that not everyone think that Jennifer Hale is the second coming of Christ that really rubs me the wrong way. Is she a great voice actress? Absolutely! But her fanbase is seriously creepy with their fanatacism and has managed to completely turn me off of the character of female Shepard. Think of the Halemancers as the group that took up the mantle of Most Obnoxious Fanbase on the BSN after the departure of the most hardcore Talimancers.
ETA: Quite frankly, the one thing I *am* bitter about is the fact that
