I'll accept it if Chakwas retires though... I doubt she will though, she's a fighter and I think she wants to go out fighting rather than sat on some desk job.

Chakwas? She'll come along just for the ride if I let her. Should we get the change to ask her if she'll come, I guess "we need you" might do the job but what will really get to her is "Don't you want to see the end of it all?"

@Saphra Deden:
It would serve you right to be stuck with a tight-assed Alliance crew for all of ME3.:P

Only possibility I see of them having her go ground-side or off Normandy (other than her being dead obviously) would be to aid Anderson, but we already know she prefers being on ships than grounded and she has stated how she cares deeply for Shep, Joker and Kaidan, so to me is seems obvious she'll definitly return, like you said she'll want to see the end to this adventure.

I had wondered whether the death of the rest of the crew might affect her (either half or all the others) but she already has commented on how people die in ME and ME2 so I can't see that being a stumbling block.

Speaking of the deaths, I wonder how they will handle the half crew scenario. I wonder if that would have an effect on the living ones returning or not. So far I've never stomached doing a playthrough with that scenario, mostly it's been full crew but with 1 playthrough having every crew member dead including chakwas (and most of squad apart from Zaeed and Kasumi) and another with just chakwas alive. To me the half crew one seems worse, not sure why it just does. I think it is because of the reactions you get from those that lived (I've seen videos of their chat)

Half crew is cruel since Ken lives but Gabby dies. It's so difficult to imagine only one of them on the Normandy. IMO it's either neither or (preferably) both.

I'd like the ones back who survived.
Most of my games have them all surviving but I do have one where some died. I think the survivors would be happy to help keep us going in the final battles.

Yes, I think this is a great idea.

Meh. I'm not that bothered by it. If they don't come back, "Good redience!"
If they do come back. "Welcome home!"

All of the crew are willing members of a terrorist organization,  most of which left the Alliance specifically to join a terrorist organization.  Why exactly would the Alliance allow their flagship to be staffed by known terrorists?  Especially ones who are members of an organization that is actively trying to destroy the Alliance?

No government would ever permit known members of an actively antagnostic organization to staff their flagship.

Then there's the team members you recruited.  One's a fugitive,  one's a traitor and terrorist,  many more actively hate each other.  Why would they stick around when they can't even be in a room together?  Seriously,  go find yourself a few people you know that hate each other,  put them in a room together for just 1 night and see what happens.  Now try doing that for months.  Not going to happen.

Ah...the Alliance. Yes, that group who doesn't believe me about the Reapers, puts me on a political trial and steals my ship, all the while being to uppity about it as to make Cerberus almost seem like a good idea. As with Cerberus in ME2, though for different reasons, any co-operation will be a matter of necessity rather than sympathy.

It isn't a matter of *them* letting me get my crew back. If fate - i.e. the Bioware writers - will let me, I'll pick them up again.

People bandy about the terrorism too much, apparently unable to see shades of grey instead of black and white. The SR2 crew are decent people, I haven't seen a hint of political extremism in them. And then there are Chakwas and Joker. If we can get them back in spite of having worked with TIM, we sure can get the others back.

Joker, Chakwas, Kelly, Kenneth & Gabby are a must. I'm indifferent to Rupert, though I suppose *someone* has to be the chef on the Normandy (preparing food on a space ship is a position not many would be lining up for..). However, I'd also like some new crew members for Shepard to interact with, just to freshen things up a bit.

The crew of the SR1 were also fugitives. They all violated a direct command. Both the SR1 and SR2 crew have one major thing in common. They aren't Cerberus' crew, they aren't the Alliance's crew; they are Shepard's crew. Personally, I'd like some continuity and not meeting a whole new crew again, which basically leaves the SR2 crew since they were far more animated than the SR1's crew.

We're not following the story of your average commander; we're following the story of one of the most exceptional people in the galaxy. I think it's reasonable to expect Shepard can obtain their loyalty regardless of their feelings for each other.

I hope Kelly comes back, at the very least. She was a delight!

Plus if you flirted with her enough she would dress like a stripper for ManShep or FemShep.

I don't want any more Cerberus people on board my ship.

I had a really hard time playing through ME2. Hated every second I had to spent with that terrorist organization Cerberus.

Let's remember: They had Admiral Kahoku killed, Akuze, Rachni set loose to kill Alliance soldiers, turning an entire human colony into husks, funding ExoGeni's research into Thorian Creepers on Feros and other worlds, Corporal Toombs etc..

Remove all Cerberus emblems from my ship. Give me a full alliance crew. Preferably the old crew from ME1. I don't want to see anything Cerberus related thing on the Normandy again. It was what made ME2 the worst part in the trilogy in my opinion of course.

My Shepard should also be allowed to wear his alliance fatigues again. I hated the Cerberus uniforms. I was always running around in the black suit you got from the Kasumi DLC to avoid the Cerberus uniforms. I don't know about your canons or Shepards but mine is an Alliance soldier through and through. Like Ashley it is in his blood.

In ME2 I betrayed Cerberus at any given opportunity and I can't wait to kill them in ME3. They're terrorists after all. They have no rights left. They gave them up when they did all these despicable things to humans and aliens alike. They're enemy combatants. I want to take em all down. Miranda and Jacob included. Never trusted them.

If I can figure out how to loose them on the suicide mission without killing anyone else I would be very happy.

I'd damn well better have my crew back. And if not, I'd like the opportunity to have the following conversation with who took their place.

Generic Crew Member: Well, ma'am, it is an Alliance ship, and we thought this crew- who has been exhaustively trained- would be perfect for the job.
Shepard: Have you fought off a collector invasion on your ship? Flown through the Omega-4 relay? Helped make the Normandy the biggest, baddest ship around?
GCM: Well, uh-
Shepard. You thought wrong. *epic flounce*

I felt slightly less disconnected to my crew in ME2. But you could still only talk to a few of them.

*facepalm* If you clearly think this of the SR2 crew then you clearly didn't bother paying any attention in the game.

I hope not. That would ruin ME3 for me.

Besides all crewmembers wearing Cerberus uniforms get thrown out the airlock. That includes Joker and Chakwas if they don't rejoin the alliance. And even if they do rejoin the alliance I will never fully trust them again for betraying the alliance in the first place.

Maybe I have to suffer through ME2 again to get my entire Cerberus crew killed if there are still people in Cerberus uniforms on my ship in ME3.

I paid a lot of attention to the game.

I didn't like it. I was forced to work for Cerberus. Being betrayed by a former squadmate and friend (Liara).

Yes, some people believe she saved you from the Collectors but better be dead and disected or liquified than to work for the enemey that is Cerberus.

I played though ME2 twice now and don't like it. The story is terrible.

Why wasn't I given the choice to stay on the Lazarus station. I would have rather taken on every mech on the base than to go with Miranda and Jacob. I wasn't given the choice. Why couldn't I betray the Cerberus crew to the Council and Anderson and request an Alliance crew to take over the SR-2 (horrible ship by the way. SR-1 was the better ship imo)? Again I wasn't given the choice. Normally this series prides itself on choices but left the meaningfull and reasonable choices out this time.

What he meant was you didn't pay attention to your crew. Nearly everyone serving on the Normandy left the Alliance to serve under you, not Cerberus. Because they believed in what you were doing and or had families that were at risk they needed to save.

They were not in any way connected with the cells you fought in the first game.

Yeah, I remember all those great moments in Mass Effect 1 where I was able to betray the Council and join up with Saren and the Reapers...oh wait, that didn't happen. Mass Effect 1 did railroad me into working for the Alliance. What a pity.

That is true. I can't argue with that but one fact still remains and it is one I haven't been able to get past. They did betray the Alliance. Even if they had a noble reason it is still treason.

You don't just quit when things get tough.

I must have said this wrong. Posted Image

If they rejoin the Alliance it is ok. Even though there is still that trust issue I have with them.

Just sugar coating doesn't work for me.
