I, for one, would like to see NYC Mass Effect-ified.

Sure why not see my city in the game. It'd be pretty awesome. Many people would be angry because the game wasn't their city or perhaps it is biased or some BS.

While I don't mind the idea of seeing New York, I think the reason is because it's in many, many games, and people want something different.

True, but an ME New York would be quite different.

Because New York is always used for this kind of stuff. Same for London and Tokyo.

Done to death. This Vancouver-Seattle super city thing that BW are going with is pretty unique, i like it anyway. Although i wouldn't mind there being a cutscene in-game showing different locations around the world(including NY) being reaped. Like that Live Action trailer.

Pretty much this.

NYC and LA are always destroyed.  Always.  Will be a neat change to see a future version of Seattle or Nice or Vancouver get ripped apart.

I would say it's because it's been done to death. It's the city I would typically associate with but I've seen many of burning Statues of Liberties and broken Empire State Buildings. Hell, we already saw the beheaded SoL in ME2. That's my reason though. I wouldn't be surprised if people simply wanted to see their own city.

Well, I'm among the few who actually wouldn't mind seeing it. I lived there for some time myself, so that's probably part of the reason... but I guess also because it has quite a high population, so seeing it being torn apart by Reapers would make me think "Oh damn. Sh*t just got real." or something along those lines.

It may be cliched, but as long as Bioware can make it work well then I don't mind.

Besides, I thought it was already confirmed as a location in the "Known features" thread? Or maybe I'm just imagining things.
