Why is anti-Americanism so widespread on the web?

As an American, I find it disheartening how many anti-American things are on the web.

Whether it's a 5 second Family Guy clip where the comments are a Canada vs. US flame war (guess who's winning), or just in general people looking down on others they don't even know, assuming they are fat and stupid because they live in the US.

Why is that? Opinions are greatly valued.

I'd like to hear what BioWare fans think.

I find it amusing on how us Brits are stereotyped.

But i do think all Americans have that slack jawed accent and you all sound the same.

Example: You are such a fricken douchebag maaaan. Emphasis on the letter a in the word 'man'.

Oh and i always think Americans have that 'yeehaaaw' thing to them, expecting them to say it every now and then.

Wide range of issues, from jealousy to envy, to pitty, etc. And Trust me when I say people from other lands hate other lands as much if not more. For fun times get a Turk and an Armienian talking lulz. Or mention anything positive about the WW2 or even current Japanese to the Typical south east asian or Chinese. Or Mention Zee Germans around Zee French. In fact the trend goes over into many "Military issues" type threads and I find it funny how on both sides be it the US or other nation each claims it could whoop the others ass.

Hillariously I DO know the capabilities of each side, and my traditional counter is, if your so sure of our armed forces, then fine I agree to war. But you put on the boots and go out in front. Funny how many people back down from such sureness, when faced with the prospect of there own death...hmm maybe we should put commanders and the political masters at the front again. Might make **** alot more peaceful.

And Canada and the US issue...like it or not not much is aprt from the other and sooner or later geopolitical concerns will ensure a union some day, or mutial destruction. So its really why all nations hate another, pride in ones nation, over or underestimation of nations capaibilities, rage, bad blood, past relations, current relations national sense of self superority (many European nations are guilty of this), ego, jealous, nations are people. Or rather reflective of those who live in it. Policy is set by popular backing or force of arms, and policy comes from alike minds. Hence nations are each a person.

And I'm sure you have someone around you you hate and would want to kill. Or not mind seeing dead. I will readily admit to those demons. Some of you will say that you don't but its a lie. So if you want the nice car, or you want the TV you can't affoard, evil thoughts will enter you, or maybe you won't see them as evil, but as what your owed from a past wrong by that person. And given nations are made up and ran by people, why wouldn't they? Sure fancy political remarks and ploys are given, but at then end of the day it boils down to the same reason you hate someone around you. In the end it a manner its natural.

Really? You are that blind to ask?
Americans have been killing innocent people, they have robbed poorer countries, stealed natural resources, they the reason for much of the poverty, for crissake. They are the reason for the starvation in Africa. They destroy the enviroment, they are double-faced and always close their eyes at the injustice they've caused. If you think that the expesive lifestyle comes without a price you are mistaken.
Well, probably not really americans, but American corporations.

That is the key quote.

The UK is becoming a slum even more everyday.

You would get attacked by a mob of chavs just by looking at them or you get a reply like:

What you looking at mate you startin? I'll mash you up ennit, get me some cigs?

With so many young mums and dads, the condom is a myth or a urban legened over here.

Africa should be kept as it was. Colonization in Africa without improving their moral and cultural condition was an absolute mistake. Now we have Governments of rapists and invaders in central Africa that attack each other every several years. Europa is more responsible than USA for economical and social chaos in Africa.

Edit: before the lock down, because politics aren't allowed in these forums.
End of line.

Africa is intetionally kept poor by loans with enormous interests, and not only that. There is a lot of pollution due to american (and not only) corporations that others turn a blind eye on. The environmental **** is a lie used to keep poor countries' economies at halt.
It is true, French and British colonists did monstrous things, so did the catolic church, but this is inconvenient and thus not many people talk about it.
To be honest, I am surprised that people are so warm to the USA, really.

Not to mention Iraq. Do you have any idea what weapons they used there? Because of the radioactive material now cancer is becoming much more widespread and people are dying. Their economy is destroyed, their resources are being taken away from them. The peace has been destroyed. There were no ethnic problems in IRaq of this size before the war.
Iraq was not the first and will not be the last. Just because most countries are destroyed and enslaved economically that doesn't mean Americans had nothing to do with it.

Well, I would say, the first thing is that people in the USA are calling their country America :P

Then, there is the cultural and political issue. For decades now, the USA are almost forcing their point of vue as the unique truth about freedom, democracy and success. That tends to ****** people off, especially when... well... Except from a military perspective, the USA aren't really the healthy exemple.

And finaly, people don't like and/or laugh at other culture, and that's everywhere, including the USA. Sometimes, seeing how people and countries are presented in the main hollywoodian products makes you wonder...

That and your governments are a bunch of ruthlessly corrupt and incompetant and oppresive mad houses.. for the most part.

Though I must agree the situation in Congo is definitely our fault.

It isn't that widespread, the Anti- side is just louder. In my opinion.
And they aren't actually anti-american always... It's just that nowadays it's in to dislike America.

First of all: You still blame the Europeans for slaughtering the original inhabitants a few hundred years ago? So much for grudges...

Second: The Iraq war wasn't about oil. For the real reason, read this. Fun to know that your president sents his loyal soldiers to death for money, not?

OT: I think it has to do with the Iraq war. That gave the USA a bad reputation I think...

That's humanity, bro. Don't try to justify yourself by seperating us into countries.
