Americans have been killing innocent people, they have robbed poorer countries, stealed natural resources, they the reason for much of the poverty, for crissake. They are the reason for the starvation in Africa. They destroy the enviroment, they are double-faced and always close their eyes at the injustice they've caused. If you think that the expesive lifestyle comes without a price you are mistaken.
Well, probably not really americans, but American corporations.

So... are you stating that only Americans were the ones who have "been killing innocent people, have robbed poorer countries, stealed natural resources (...)"?

You really need to watch the News. Of course, not the ones related to America. Maybe you'll open your eyes and see that many other countries've been killing many more people, doing many more harm to the society than US. Yes, not everybody's favorite, so what? Don't blame one whole nation just because you lack the ability to see your own countrie's problems.

Well funny enough to be "100's of years ago" your governments STILL jump into those nations affairs and left them high and dry, after you milked them, or got thrown out on your rumps, and in the case of the Chinese....yes they still are pissed about it and undoutabely will one day steal everything that was stolen from them back, which would be sweet justice. Europe has never made any ovetures to the people it oppresed, murderd and stole from. And then goes will its in the past! Thats not going to cut it more so when you tell the same "savages" what to do on a daily bases with threat of Military force, or threat of force from your Ally that you treat in a horendous manner.

Such as the events of Hurricane Katrina, when Aid from Russia and China was larger and had less strings to it, a fact our government doesn't mention and hides to perserve the statues qou of the anglo-saxon power base.

As to number 2? Funny enough, when hasn't the American Soldier been shafted or ****ted on by his political masters in the 20th-21st century? As to that I do remember Ike Warning against it, and its hardly the US that does such. In fact every member of the so called Security Council in the UN is also funny enough among your largest Arms dealers.

That's humanity, bro. Don't try to justify yourself by seperating us into countries.

Yeah, because waging wars because your ammo and weapons are reaching the end of their lifespan has nothing to do with countries. Which one is better-ammo worth billions to be destroyed or used against people? Cynical, but true.

@Luna Siwora
This is probably the worst justification I have ever heard. If Iyou kill a man does that make it right because others have killed in the past?
If you rob someone does the fact that there are thousands of robbers justify you?
Does the fact that there are thousands of murders on TV make things right, how does it open one's eyes?
Other people doing it is not a justification, it's stupidity.

So basically eeverything Colonial Europe had already done before we arrived, and in some part still does?  Oh snap.

Also don't even start any **** over Iraqi Oil I can show you proof thats a damn lie, nearly 85% of the Production oil has laned in European Hands, primairly Scadinavian and Russian. America Blood pays the price, Europe gets the Oil.

First of all: You still blame the Europeans for slaughtering the original inhabitants a few hundred years ago? So much for grudges...

Second: The Iraq war wasn't about oil. For the real reason, read this. Fun to know that your president sents his loyal soldiers to death for money, not?

OT: I think it has to do with the Iraq war. That gave the USA a bad reputation I think...

btw, I just heard that Tony Blair and the rest of the criminals are getting money for the oil they stole in Iraq! Crime does pay....
and it's happening all over again but in libya

Still makes me sad.

Even this thread is a flame war. :(

I don't believe the US is the greatest country. I don't think one exists.

I find it amusing on how us Brits are stereotyped.

But i do think all Americans have that slack jawed accent and you all sound the same.

Example: You are such a fricken douchebag maaaan. Emphasis on the letter a in the word 'man'.

Oh and i always think Americans have that 'yeehaaaw' thing to them, expecting them to say it every now and then.

I say yeehaw all the time, I also  wear snake skin boots exclusively. And I've been known to lasso.

I am anti-colonist (for the lack of a better word) and everything that came from the colonization, including the USA. Nothing can justify the destruction of other cultures, peoples and civilizations. The USA was founded by the people who murdered all of the locals and destroyed them. And this is terible and nothing could ever justify it.

I don't understand all the hate. Really. First, it's been sometime that the US have been "taking control" of other countries' business, but not entirely. They are a world power since the 19th Century, mostly because of the Monroe Doctrine and because of the Big Stick. Haters gonna hate... I've known many Anti-America people, European-centric people, Anti-Europe people. Really! Just stay out of other people's business, unless it involves national security or only God knows what.

Actully I Can Jack ass, and I will, http://en.wikipedia...._arms_exporters gee....funny how it matches up isn't it... http://en.wikipedia....rmanent_members

And gee part of my issue is I happen to be more related to those who were ****ted on and have countless family members that have fought and died for Policy that benafited Europe more than the US, and thats a fools errand.

This being said I have nothing against the people of the various nations in Europe, so much as governments and more so my own. To much of our blood has been spilled (any blood is too much) for ill concieved plans and alliances that offer no benafit for us at all.

I'm quite aware, as the US didn't win WWII on its own (what most people have the "we saved your asses attitude about), and didn't "invent everything", as some would put it.

It just frustrates me to see people generalize me and my country and assume that we're all fat scumbags that are all ignorant to the rest of the world.

For obvious reasons, that rubs me the wrong way too.

American people are just like everyone else in the world, but we shouldn't judge them for the corruption of the country as they have been so oppressed by their leaders, cops etc...the idiots who you are angry at are too afraid to leave the country so let them die there in their own stupidity. But I find Americans to be the most hateful towards america.

What's better?

America has her faults no doubt, but I struggle to find a nation that would be a better place to live beyond a reasonable doubt.

EU? Those nations' best days were over a hundred years ago.

China? The proles are still **** to them.

Middle East? I'm sure working with an oil sheik would be great until some nut job suicide bombed you ass.

Africa? Nope. Largely a hopeless continent. Well, South Africa is probably the best of the bunch, but that is not saying a whole lot.

Mexico? I'm sure all the illegals think it's better than the U.S.

Canada? Cmon now. All they do is piggyback on the United States' successes and condemn our shortcomings. But that could be said for many nations.

What's better?

Whether it's a 5 second Family Guy clip where the comments are a Canada vs. US flame war (guess who's winning), or just in general people looking down on others they don't even know, assuming they are fat and stupid because they live in the US.

Why is that? Opinions are greatly valued.

I'd like to hear what BioWare fans think.

I think it's more of a reaction to American arrogance on the web.

I'm American, but I've lived in a few different countries in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Let's be honest with ourselves - many people around the world might love their sports teams, etc., but most are quite skeptical about their government and few would say they feel proud of their "country" as an abstract concept.

In America, however, vehemently opposing actions taken by our government was considered "un-American" and "un-patriotic" as little as 10 years ago. Now there are many who consider themselves quite patriotic and yet a lot more critical of the government. This outspoken pride is perplexing for many who live around the world and see video footage of American patriotism.

How does it work exactly to be proud of your "country," if you disagree with many actions of Congress or the White House? Are you proud of the physical landmass itself? Proud of the people who live in the country (all 350 million of them, or only some)? The past achievements of individuals in the country? The elite, wealthy men who founded the country?

Exactly. And is with great sorrow that I say that, when the matter concerns corruption, Brazil is the greatest in it. It's the "I can say, but you can't" policy... I'd rather let Americans resolve their own problems and face the consequences. Every country has a system of its own, with diplomatic alliances. Trolling someone born in some country just because you dislike its methods is utterly childish.
