Personally I think the movie should be made parallel to the game universe cause making the movie as prequel or within the game usiverse in my opinion seems really dumb and unneeded.  Resident Evil tried to make itself as a movie with in game universe and look how bad that was so Bioware if you're reading this PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE MASS EFFECT MOVIE WITHIN THE GAME UNIVERSE OR BEFORE THE GAME BEGINS, ITS NOT COOL!!

Instead I think bioware should should adapted the mass effect movie, the same way Jon Fauvro adapted the Ironman movies which is set in it's own parallel universe unrelated to the comics in any shape or form but with great respect to the source materail from the game like a movie version of the history of the Mass Effect universe should come close to what we see in the game with some minor needed changes to help the movie flow better.

An example of this is Ironman the movie where Iron monger was a long time buiness partner that knew Tony' father instead of a guy who cames in later as a rival. Small changes like that and not like huge changes like Saren is Garrus' dad or anything. I think for the Mass Effect movie though, that Saren should be the main bad guy in the franchise if bioware makes 3 movies as he could be a face of the enemy starting off as working for them in the first movie then questioning what's he doing in the 3 movie to end the saga.

Cause Mass Effect 2 the game lacked that face of the enemy which Mass effect 1 the game had. Saren was a good antagonist because he was that sterotypical bad guy in the movies that we viewers are used to. He represented all that the player could focus their dislike toward for his actions pushing us to really decide what to do with him once we finally defeated him.

Saren was a really Shakespearen character with his orgins in the book as a once great hero turn villian thinking he was helping his people the organics but losing his soul in the process to the Reapers a good villian for on screen.

In the first movie Saren could command the Geth like in Mass Effect 1 then be defeated by Shepard in the first movie thus freeing the Geth. For the Second movie he could be given a second chance by the Reapers and then commands the Collectors but question is what he's doing right? For the third and final movie he and Shepard could have that final epic show down and also it could be the movie Saren redeems himslef by helping Shepard defeat the Reapers.

Also Hugo Weaving would be the perfect choice for Saren in my opinion cause his evil characters really resemble what Saren's charcter is. Also when I first saw Saren's appearance  kinda reminded me of Megatron from the transformers movie who was also by the way voice by Hugo Weaving lol. :)

With Commander Shepard the Default Shepard is the perfetc template for a number of actors in Hollywood to play I suggest Chris Evans or Sam Worthington as Shepard cause they look close to the characters resemblance. Personally I think Evans cause he looks the right height/ physical fitness and since he's playing Captain America this summer he's already got alot of Shepard's personality down.

Since Captain America and Shepard are both patriots in their own way. Captian Merica is the patriot of the American people and Shepard is the patriot of the Human race. With him and Weaving on screen they could bring their preformances from Capatin America and Red Skull to the movie thats makes a cool dynamic between Shepard and Saren.

You're right. My eyes started bleeding by the third line.

With as little fan input as possible, if this thread is any indication.

Without reading this I am going to go with a please don't ruin a good game and make a movie out of it. It is too unrealistic to be a good movie.

I second that. ME is a game and should be left at that. Unless, you don't focus on Shepard and tell someone elses story, like Jacob or Miranda. Hell, turn one of the novels into a movie but if you're going to do a movie, ATTEMPT to make it a good one.

Well, I guess that explains the random periods.

I think it should be a direct prequel of the games. With possibly, occasional glimpses at what Saren is doing mostly from Nihlus's POV, showing his last mission before Eden Prime. He could have a human helping him, who impresses him but refuses to play spectre(Jacob, Kasumi, Zaedd...) or dies. Or the mission could be the taking out of a dangerous human(Zaeed again, Jack, Miranda ,Kai Leng) who earns his respect by surviving it all. This would set up his idea of a human spectrre. The movie would end on the citadel with Anderson and Udina discussing possible candidates. Last shot would Udina deep in thought saying: Well...what about Shepard? (The very first line of the game). Sijnce I have and idea for the trailer too, I'm bound to be disapointed. Oh, well
