Hello.
I am making a cutscene where i want "my man" to turn around 180 degrees and walk for a while then stop and turn. I have assigned a aniation where he walks 5 steps, but I want him to continue to walk for a while.

I have tried to assign a new "walk 5 steps" animation but the there is an ugly glitch when the animations switch...

Any tutorials on this?

Also -> how do I make footstep sounds when he walks?

Thanks

I don't have the toolset here to look at but I think if you look in the properties of the animation you will see a couple of settings called 'offsets'. You can extend shorter animations or shorten longer ones by tinkering with this.

If that doesn't work you can choose the basic walk animation, do not apply the GAD and just move the actor forward by manually moving the actor and using keyframes. You will also have to tinker a bit with the animation speed so that his walking matches how fast you are moving him.

(When you are adding a 2nd walk 5 steps animation are you putting that animation on the same track or on a different track? Also do you have my spreadsheet utility that lists all of the animations and what they do?)

re: footsteps, not sure.

I'm using the same track.

Is this what the animation blender is for?
Could not find any good tutorials for this...:(

What I do when having one animation play after another is to put them in separate tracks, then you can have them overlap.

Ctrl select both animations so they are hi-lighted and then right click on them and create a 'transition' between them.  In this way the animations will blend together to some extent rather than just starting and stopping.  For more detailed blending you can use the curve editor (of which we need a tutorial).
