Just got to Zues Hope, where you have to save the colonists.  I had to save it just after riding the elevator up, let it auto save then saved it myself.  Came back to the game later and now the door is shut and everytime I try to use the elevator the game hangs on the loading screen.  Anything I can do or am I screwed, with ending up having to start the game again?

Sounds like a corrupt save file try loading and earlier save and playing back to that point. Use hard saves as much as possible quick saves have a much higher chance of being corrupted.

Edit: Just realised it's a 360 so my advice about quick saves probably doesn't count.

thanks anyway, looks like at this piont I will have to bite the bullet and start again, thats 13 hours down the drain.
