They are four people with the position of providing the "Best of all possible worlds." to an entire Galaxy. You think all they have to do with their day is to listen to one of their Specters rant about some genocidal cuttlefish from outside of the galaxy?
They tell Shepard time and again that they're not his babysitter - and that they gave him power and immunity FOR A REASON. The level of trust the Council puts into its Specter is tremendous..
Also - would you people really want a game where: "Shepard tells Council, Council thanks Shepard and mobilizes an army - game over as Shepard gets drunk at Flux" Because the game would be about two hours of playtime.
====
TIM - a certified control freak, should never have given Shepard that much freedom. It seems totally illogical that he did.
The same with the Alliance - they're interests are completely human, and Shepard's just one "commander" amongst hundreds or thousands.
====
I support the Council and the greater galactic community.

Cerberus dosent seem so bad in the games, but after the novels i realy hate them
and also the fact that TIM is probably indoctrinated.

or none of the above, but whichever one you state, please say why. I can't figure out why so many people are Cerberus haters.
Also, how do you think our loyalties to one over the other will affect ME3? so far it looks like Cerberus loyalists are screwed.
The Systems Alliance /Salute.
My Shepard has been loyal to them throughout the franchise even when working for cerberus, uploading cerberus intel to Alliance Command etc.
Fighting to survive a thresher maw attack on Akuze, going on to represent them as the first human spectre, letting the council die so we can move in and take control. Dictating terms on the citadel while our fleet lie in orbit

The Alliiance preffered to leave colonies unprotected and instead of doing soemthing against the Reapers they discarded Shepards ideals because he was with cereberus.Also i beleive that the alliance not reviving Sheaprd WAS kind of a betrayal because he is not "a soldier" he is humanity's hero and icon.i beleive that they owe him at least that much.
The council blamed the geth for a Reapers attack and altogether claimed that the reapers are Shepard's ilusion
Cerberus is too human centric for my taste but at least it does somemthing

I always find it ridiculously funny why most people here are so unflinchingly opposed to human interests. Are you not a human?
I wonder how many of you actually pursue the same line of thought in real life when it comes to your countries. And how many of you will side for another country instead of yours.
Maybe it's just me and I take decisions in games as I would in real life but seriously what's the logic behind crippling our own kind for the sake of aliens.
Hating Cerberus on moral terms is all fine and dandy and I can understand that but not promoting our own kind sounds illogical to me.
Any race, not just humans, being the dominating one sounds like a empire, and that is a obsolete and inneficent way of rule even on one little planet like Earth. A galactic empire sounds even more like a self defeat.

I'm not too sure I trust any organization. Alliance wouldn't help with the Collectors, and neither did the Council. The alliance did however help against Sovereign. It was also Cerberus that brought me back to life to stop the Collectors. Screw the coucil, except for Anderson. Had it not been for me and my squad, the galaxy would be void of any life whatsoever. Being that I'm an intergalactic warrior with a track record known for distributing death throughout the cosmos, its best that they all align with me.
As I see it, I general this whole mission.
My support goes solely with myself, and my squad (which includes my Love Interest), and those who have aided my quest in the past. Also any sentient race that is with my cause, and is with me distributing death across the cosmos. Nothing will stop the bath of blood.

not exactly true. Empire is among the most efficient forms of rule, but it is among the least widely accepted. Response times to incidents and disaster is usually more cohesive and faster than with a form of democracy due to the lack of red tape and virtual autonomy of government officials.lovgreno wrote...

Someone posted something about breaking laws, I can't find it.
There is a clear difference in laws, there are life laws (moral) and "paper laws". If you break life laws in the process of greater good, BAD. If you break paper laws in the process of greater good, there is no problem. The laws that we have in our constitutions are merely patches, those laws are not "problem solvers". Therefore, breaking some of them, doesn't cause any issue to somebody life, as long you don't violate life laws in the process..

Because humanity has only been in Council space for a little over 20 years, and it's already acting like it owns the place. That kind of arrogance is not only morally wrong, it also garners hatred, which would be dangerous for us.
It's true that the council themselves are an annoying bunch: the turian is non-trusting and insulting, the asari pretends to be the reasonable one while actually being condescending, and the salarian is like a combination of the two. However, many members of their individual species are very good people.
On a side note, I think turians look cool.
As for Cerberus, I've been wanting to kill the lot of them since ME1.

Will help Alliance, when it concern stopping Reapers. Will work with Council, if they would finally get their head in the game and start working to defeat Reapers. And if not, then my Shep does whatever it takes to save their scaly asses again even if they don't deserve it.
Cerberus, well they are just something to kill. If it would be possible, I would destroy both Reapers and Cerberus.

If you play as a Renegade then it pretty much does. Nothing arrogant about behaving according to your station. Humans behave like they are big and important because they are big and important.
