Alliance and council. They belong in the same category as far as I am concerned.

U know cerberus is the alliance's black ops division, they are counter to spectres and the asari commandos and the salarians special task groups. So if you ask me the Alliance knows damn well what cerberus is up to.

or none of the above, but whichever one you state, please say why. I can't figure out why so many people are Cerberus haters.

Also, how do you think our loyalties to one over the other will affect ME3? so far it looks like Cerberus loyalists are screwed.

Do I support the Alliance ? Hell No.. I can't just have this ' Let's let bygones begone. ' Attiude when it comes to them... During Mass Effect 2, I really wanted to know why it was that so many ****** sapiens left Alliance space.Like the colonist on Horizon... And you have no idea -- how much I yearn to know what's on Keiji's Greybox.. What did the Alliance do that would get them in trouble with The Council and possibly start a war ? I want to know what's up there primarily so I can throw it in Ashley's face !! What she did to me still hurts. Her apparent 'blind loyalty' to the Alliance, after how they treated her family and her lover ( Me ) is inexcusable... That she decided to remain in that organization instead of leaving in protest as Engineer Donnely and Daniels did : Is a Blasphemy and Sacrilege --  Beyond the Pale :o  :pinched:

Do I support Cerberus ? Absolutedly not... I gave The Illusive Man the benefit of the doubt. But after seeing his true colors when I destroyed the Collector Base  (during my 2nd ME 2 playthrough) and after reading the Mass Effect Novels : Ascension & Retribution... I have a better grasp of who he is now... And he is not someone that I wish to asscociate myself with...

Do I support the Council ? Not when they are saying Reapers with air quotes. :P And especially not with how they stood by and did nothing to save the Quarians from genocide and planetary displacement at the hands of the Geth...

I am of two minds : Part of me strongly desires to take Jack up on her offer and not be answerable to anyone but my own conscience...And roam the cosmos as a Space Cowboy...

The other mind : What I do support is : The Cerberus/Quarian/Racchni/Geth Alliance... That I believe could be formed in Mass Effect 3. Think about it...All these groups have a shared expierence : They are all outcast who are viewed with contempt and suspicion by the Established Order. They could become a New Power in the galaxy to rival The Council itself... If they band together...

Cerberus all the way. I am amazed at how many people don't get it. You are either the predator or the prey. There can never be peace, there is always conflict, even if there is no immediate war. You fight for your kind or we all lose!

Secondly, I hate when writers present me with the obvious ''bad'' and ''good'' guys. I think that everyone can agree that Cerberus is the ''bad guy'' here and that their methods are evil. They sure are, but we being able to spot it so easily proves it to be a childish simplification in favor of a widespread delusion that doing ''good'', being nice, helping others will necessarily yield good results (for us, of course). Therefore, I support Cerberus because I don't support that kind of storytelling.

Lastly, ''Peace through Power.''

Meh only Alliance, Council will certainly "dismiss" Earth when the time comes.
And Cerberus...well they are fighting a losing battle

You are either the Predator or the Prey? Lovely stuff, never mind all the social evolution and cultural advancement that has happened. Instead of seeing the other ME races as peoples capable of that same social co-operation (and in many instances.. willing), lets just launch ourselves into uninstigated conflict

Council but it needs to be fixed, make it more like the republic in star wars but with safeguards to prevent the empire from happening. I don't like their council race to client race separation. I also don't see why alliance and council goals should be too different, all races one big ol' fleet working together, mixed races crews like the Normandy.

What would the smaller races get out of that? They'd be once again dominated by the superior economies, military contributions, and populations of the bigger races.

ME2 Cerberus, other than that... possibly solo, depending on the state of the w.i.p human-led Empire.

I have a strong suspicion Cerberus is funded, at least in part, by the Alliance, or by the same people that fund the Alliance, namely the individual nation-states of Earth. Having said that, My Male-Shepard is a Big Picture kinda guy, Paragon route, and isn't tied down to one group...but he's on the side of the council, in that the Reapers concern the entire galaxy, all species, not just humanity.

Alliance all the way.  The Council is too wishy washy, throwing in support only when they're absolutely sure nobody will object to it, and Cerberus has that whole "evil" thing going on.

In my "official" play-throughs the Council and the Alliance most likely and also most likely in that order should there be any conflicts between them, although my Renegade Shepard might be willing to go rogue either independent or with Cerberus if that option is at all viable.

Who do "I" support? The Council. Who does my Shepard support? Well, let's see:

Devon Shepard supports the Council and the Alliance.
Simone Shepard supports the Council and the Alliance.
Martín Shepard supports the Alliance.
Leah Shepard supports the Alliance.
Ethan Shepard supports Cerberus.
Ashley Shepard supports Ashley Shepard.

Yeah dude, lyke, the reapers are lyke, sooo alternative, you know? They're lyke, living on the edge of society. In a way, they're lyke, the modern rebel vagabonds, you know?

But if anyone else likes them, that'd be lyke, so uncool. Because then they're all lyke, selling out or something.

Cerberus.

They spent billions to bring Shepard back, when everyone else had left him for dead, they believed Shepard about the Reapers when no one else did and they built the SR2 and gave Shepard infinite resources to defeat the Collectors.

Sure they have some skeletons in there closet, but what organizations don't?

You don't honestly think that the Alliance or the Council hasn't done some horrific things themselves, or aren't still doing them, the only difference between the Alliance/Council and Cerberus, is that the Alliance/Council have more resources to cover up there dirty secrets.

Cerberus are unapologetic supporters of humanity and for that they have my loyalty.
