My Shepard, she doesn't support any of them.

She kept cutting the council off in Mass Effect, most hilarious string of events for me in recent memory, bad mouthed the alliance, well except for the fact she punched Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani... twice! when she bad mouthed the alliance, and Renegade Shepard also bad mouths The Illusive Man.

So, in reality, my Shepard, she only uses people til the extent they turn on her and/or become useless.

I said before that my Shepard supports the Normandy, her crew and her squad, and that's about it. Just to add a few more reasons:

The squad and the crew are dedicated to stopping the Reapers. As it stands right now, there's going to be a lot of people who are more interested in keeping their people alive. Not that this is a bad thing- it's to be expected- but that does mean that their decision-making process may vary. Do you sacrifice hundreds of trained asari commandos to save the krogan? Do you send the STG to save the Migrant Fleet? Ultimately the only people Shepard can lean on are her own people. This ends up being an issue with the Council, their respective races, and pretty much any race, the humans included.

My Shepard trusts Cerberus about as far as, well, nothing, and the fact that she knows (as is mentioned in-game) that there are members high up in the Alliance that are willing to trust and work with Cerberus makes them suspect.

I'll work with whomever I need to get the job done, but I'm not going to do any one side favours or promote one faction over another.
