**I'd like to apologize to the forum moderators in advance for the following post.**

I.. I.. I can't live with myself, onelife! I made all the wrong choices in Mass Effect! All of those pixels.. all of those poor poor pixels.. I.. I can't believe I paid for the game and everything only to reveal to the world how much of my real life revolves around killing a fictional character.. I just.. *runs off crying*

Zaeed didn't die.  You don't actualy see him die in that explosion.  He will be back to hunt you down in ME 3 because well he is Zaeed.

He doesn't die then either.  He is merely knocked out.  If you irridiate the base he wakes up when cerberus gets there he hijacks one of their ships and flies back through the omega 4 relay with a brand new ship of his own.  If you blowup the base the explosion sends his unconcious body through the omega 4 relay where he eventualy crashes on omega and wakes up in afterlife and orders a drink and then he tells people how he went through the omega relay and how he is the only one that made it back alive.  If the reapers somehow manage to reap the galaxy in ME 3 in the bad ending Zaeed will survive the reaping and 50,000 years down the road when someone is trying to stop the reaper invasion instead of getting a hologram of vigil they will get a hologram of Zaeed telling them how the reapers wiped out all of advanced galactic civilization and how he was the only one to survive.  He is Zaeed.

and then i killed generic mercenary number 183 and i almost killed myself

Yet no one can hear him since he's DLC and no one in the game except Sheperd (barely) ever acknowledges his existence.

Unless....that's all a part of his plan.

Maybe Zaeed is a REAPER!!!

Hmm. I remember some initial words...and then some derailing. And then a lot of sarcasm, which led us here. No thread, though. I'm now wondering how long this will keep up. I'll give it the night.

No, I don't think it's sarcasm. It's probably leftover sarcasm from the other posts. I don't think it's silly to actually care about the characters in the game. Most of them are very well done. It just gets dumb when people start accusing others of being [whatever] for killing off squadmates.

Yeah, my sarcasm detector could be damaged. Bad leadership on my part... I'm pathetic.. sorry, sorry, what was I say? Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I don't think it's silly to care about characters either. It was the "I never had a sister" bit that caused a twitch.

But yeah, even Miranda is human.

Regardless how lame you think a ME2 character is, it will always have more depth in the story than some new random character to replace the one you mercilessly murdered. Personally, I'd rather have characters I know in my story if I can help it.
